5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Work on the Magic of Communication
Fabulous work on learning what rapport is, as well as how to establish rapport with just about anyone at anytime. The book not only is a useful guide for communication, but also acts as a great precursor to Bandler and Grinder's work 'The Structure of Magic' (or Frogs Into Princess or Trance-formations) as well as Ericksonian Hypnosis. Simple and well presented, Jerry...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book
I would reccommend this book to anyone who knows nothing about the art of rapport. I knew a fair amount about this and this book taught me very little new. I would highly reccomend "Unlimited Power" by Tony Robbins. Much more value for money and the one chapter in that book covers most of this one!!

This review is from: The Magic of Rapport (Paperback)
Fabulous work on learning what rapport is, as well as how to establish rapport with just about anyone at anytime. The book not only is a useful guide for communication, but also acts as a great precursor to Bandler and Grinder's work 'The Structure of Magic' (or Frogs Into Princess or Trance-formations) as well as Ericksonian Hypnosis. Simple and well presented, Jerry Richardson explains different aspects of rapport in a clear and simple style with short and practicle chapters from simple pacing to dealing with resistence. Teaches you how to read body language and tools such as anchoring. An excellent book and highly reccomended for anyone thats looking for a place to start in the field of hypnotherapy or NLP.

5.0 out of 5 stars Open up your world, October 2, 2009

I knew Jerry. He practiced every bit of what's in the book. I count him as one of the most positive influences in my life. His work is based on Neuro-linguistic programming co-founded by Richard Bandler and linguist John Grinder in the 1970s. This book will teach you how to apply the principles, which they used to help severely autistic children, in your everyday life. You will find you can get along with people effortlessly no matter who they are. I cannot recommend Richardson's work too highly. It changed my life.

This book is phenomenal in teaching how the concept of rapport works and how you can achieve it. I have been studying NLP techniques for a few months now and this has been the most informative book for me so far.

4.0 out of 5 stars A learning Experience, October 5, 2011

This book opened my eyes as to where my errors were when communicating. The examples the author used made his points clear and understandable. This was the first book I have read on this topic, so I don't know if there are better ones or not.
