5.0 out of 5 stars An engaging educational series which makes science fun for kids
The Magic School Bus series is highly engaging and educational. Ms Frizzle, the intrepid teacher with amazing ideas takes her class of young and curious explorers on three fun field trips: in "For Lunch", the class takes a trip through Arnold's digestive system, in "Inside Ralphie", the class go on an unforgettable excursion through Ralphie's bloodstream, and in "Flexes...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but took to long to get to the point
The dvd consists of 3 stories in one. The first one dragged on too much before getting to the point, which was about how the skeleton and bones hold up the body. I actually thought they'd packed the wrong dvd at first. But the rest of the dvd was very informative for my 2 kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars An engaging educational series which makes science fun for kids, June 2, 2010
This review is from: The Magic School Bus: Human Body (DVD)
The Magic School Bus series is highly engaging and educational. Ms Frizzle, the intrepid teacher with amazing ideas takes her class of young and curious explorers on three fun field trips: in "For Lunch", the class takes a trip through Arnold's digestive system, in "Inside Ralphie", the class go on an unforgettable excursion through Ralphie's bloodstream, and in "Flexes Its Muscles", the gang explore a robot to learn about bones, joints and muscles.

The total running time is about 80 minutes, and the language options are English, Spanish and French. Though this series was made sometime in the early 90s, the themes are still part of school curriculum today, and this is a wonderful series to inculcate love of science in children. I've not come across another series such as this for making science fun and engaging for young children

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Series--My daughter adores it, May 9, 2010

This review is from: The Magic School Bus: Human Body (DVD)
The best review I can provide is the excitement in my 2 1/2 year old daughter's eyes when we put this DVD on for her to watch. It's educational and useful for teaching younger kids science and mathematics. In this case, the subject is the human body. This DVD in the series includes an episode that explains how your body fights colds, how it digests food and how your muscles and bones work. Each episode also has a Q and A at the end that clears up some dramatic license used in the series. I think it's a great introduction to the sciences. The animation is of course a little crude compared to today's digital animation but that doesn't detract from the show. Highly recommend this one.

This is a fun way to teach 1st graders about the body. It opens up discussions and the students are really interested.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great science adventures even for older kids, October 14, 2010

I homeschool my 13 year old son and my 10 year old daughter. We used this DVD to help reinforce lessons learned in science for both of them. Though the animation is older, the information given is valid and presented in a fun and entertaining way. Our daughter has Celiac's Disease and the episode on the digestive system was extremely helpful in explaining to her what was going on with her body and why it needed to heal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids, January 8, 2012

I got this video from the library to play for my kids as part of teaching them about the digestive process. I've always found the Magic Schoolbus items to be nicely educational and fun. My kids were not particularly eager to watch this video, as they sometimes tire of my efforts to educate them. But watch it they did and they were laughing the whole time. I think this is a good fun & educational video for kids in the 6-11 range. This is my first Magic Schoolbus video; usually we read the books. I'm going to hunt for some more M.S. videos to try out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great investment!, December 6, 2011

I bought this for my two boys over a year ago and they're still watching. They were 5 and 7 when purchased along with Space Adventures. I am going to get more. They are great movies for car rides. Also, it is truely and investment in their education as well. My boys have impressed teachers with what they've learned from Magic School Bus. We have books too! I think they enjoy reading the books even more because they can easily picutre the characters from the show. I had all of the episodes recorded on my DVR, but we have moved. I could re-record all of them, but that's not portable. There are three episodes per DVD-it's worth the $!

5.0 out of 5 stars Magic School Bus - DVD, November 8, 2011

I purchased this for grandkids ages, 3, 4 and two 5s. They enjoy it and watch it repeatedly. They especially like when the bus travels down to the stomach and through the intestines. I think it was an educational tool for learning about the human body in a fun way for this age group.

4.0 out of 5 stars Educational & funny, June 12, 2010

I ordered this for my 5 yr. old son & he absolutely loves it. He keeps watching it & rewinding some of the scenes he finds funny. Personally, I never watched the TV series growing up because I didn't watch much TV (except on Saturday mornings). But if I had known this TV series was around back then, I would've watched it. I recommend this DVD to people of all ages...it's pretty entertaining. Even adults can learn from this DVD.
