This review is from: Magic Sense (Audio CD)
I heard one song from Chilled C'quence on Groove Salad (internet radio) and decided to take a gamble on the whole CD. Wow! There is one song that is probably a 3-star, but the others are 5's.
The CD-cover lists the songs by bpm, versus time. So until you start playing them, or have ripped 'em, you don't know what to expect. This is good because you probably have heard other songs in the past where you think, "that's a great rift -- the song is sooo good, but it is too short!" Well, they solve that issue. Track one, Dawn Era, is 7:43 in length. Chill In Natura, 10:58 ! It was my first listen, and favorite. Collective Memories (#3) is weakest, but that's only because I don't care for the whimsical, little-used vocals. Magic Sequence is 8:23, and rocks. Then you have the next songs that come in at 7:58, 8:09, 9:44, 9:54, and 8:37. Most of them are fantastic to have as background music. But you can crank the volume and play most of them loud while driving. They are melodic, rhythmic, electronica, and jazzy. Think of some of the very best segments of Enya or others in that genre, and this is Chilled C'quence, only more fully developed and lengthy.
