my 6 year old daughter loves this book,

This review is from: Magic Spell (My Secret Unicorn) (Paperback)
My daughter loves this book. She was very enchanted by the story. This was the first one in the series we read together. I can't wait to buy her the others. I also enjoyed reading it. Sometimes, kids books are so easy that they have no magic. This one had magic and imagination...great combination as a read-aloud or read-alone.

My 2nd grader loves this series,

I have not read the book myself but my 7 year old daughter loves it. She is very interested in horses and not a big fan of reading right now. I managed to talked her into reading it and she was very interested in the story line and was telling me all about it. She did read the book faster than I had thought she would have though.

This series of books is super cute and great for 1st and 2nd grade readers. Scholastic only has published 4 of these in the U.S. but there are over 20 books in the series. You can find the other ones from the U.K. online if you look.

An enjoyable story for young horse lovers,

My 4 year old loves this story. She had us read it to her 3 times in a row, and has taken to reciting the "spells". She wants to make sure that she remembers them for when she gets her own pony. (Where she got the idea that that WOULD happen, I am not sure.) It is enjoyable for both youngster and adult. The story is more simplistic than I think is necessary for the target age bracket, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Thoughts from my 7 year old daughter,
By
This review is from: Magic Spell (My Secret Unicorn) (Paperback)
My daughter and my wife read this together for bedtime.
My wife said "it was a very cute book and it was hard to stop reading. It was very magical and fun." My daughter says "I really liked it. I loved the magic stuff in the book. I want to get more My Secret Unicorn stories." We have purchased the next book Dreams come true for her to read on her own. It was a great way to bring more love of reading into her life.

Perfect book for my 6 year old that loves ponies, unicorns and anything related. We read it together at bedtime, large chapter books are a little big for her still, but the content is understandable for a 6 year old and it is well-written. We will be continuing to get more from the series.

This book is the first in a series about a young girl whose pony just so happens to turn into a unicorn each night when she recites the magic spell. We began reading these to my daughter a few months ago and have accumulated as many of the books in this series that we could find. The stories are completely appropriate for young children (5 and up). I really like how the author incorporates real-life subjects into the stories as well. For example, the main character, Lauren, deals with the issues of friendships, peer relationships and family dynamics.
I would highly recommend this series for younger children and The Secret of the Unicorn Queen series to those children 10 and up.

This series is great for my 5 year old. It is difficult to find books that are at the right reading level but not too mature for her age - most of the popular series seem to include bratty characters, which is fine for an 8 year old but not so much for a 5 year old. The Secret Unicorn books are mostly harmless and what little girl doesn't love unicorns and magic?

The Magic Spell
I read this whole book I thought this book was a great book. This book is a great book it has a unicorn in it and it's a magical story. This story is about a girl who thinks "should I believe that unicorns exist?" why did she get a book about unicorns and why did the lady who gave her the book about unicorns say I used to have a unicorn? If you want to find out why the lady said "I used to have a unicorn" and why she gave a book about unicorns read the book "The magic spell" |
