One of Mary Pope Osbourne's best,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Season of the Sandstorms (Magic Tree House #34) (Hardcover)
I am a 7 year old boy who really likes this series. This was one of the best Magic Tree House Merlin Missions there is. In the Merlin Missions, Jack and Annie have to go on a mission to save Camelot, a mythical city. We still don't know why they have to save the city. Summer of the Sea Serpent was definately the best, but if you are just starting to read the Magic Tree House books, you should either start at the beginning, or start with Christmas at Camelot, which is the first of the Merlin Missions.

Jack & Annie's Baghdad Adventure,
By Nana Bea "Bonita" (Kentucky, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Season of the Sandstorms (Magic Tree House #34) (Hardcover)
Jack and Annie are on another exciting adventure. Using the magic tree house in Frog Creek, PA, they travel to Ancient Baghdad. Author Mary Pope Osborne recalls her own travels in Iraq to write this Magic Tree House story. Like other adventures Jack and Annie have experienced, the brother and sister team must solve riddles in order to complete a mission. Jack and Annie's mission is to help the caliph of the Arab empire spread wisdom to the world. Using magic rhymes to help them complete their mission, Jack and Annie travel through a desert, battle a sandstorm, and face bandits to deliver a treasure to the caliph in Baghdad. I enjoyed this story of Jack and Annie's adventure in Ancient Baghdad. The tale has mystery and excitment that will appeal to kids as well as adults. I also like the historical settings and information about places that can be learned through these adventures. I look forward to the next magic trip of Jack and Annie.

Each time I purchase a book for my Grandchildren, I read it before I give it. At seven Alex is now reading chapter books and This is the second Magic Tree House book I have read. Alex was pleased when he saw another of the series. The action, dialogue and narrative are interesting and age appropriate. I intend to purchase more of the series for future gifts for Alex and my other Grandchildren as they grow ready. I feel comfortable giving any of the books in the series as gifts, the author, Mary Pope Osborne, is talented and insightful.

This book as with all of the magic tree house books is fantastic. My son and I have read every one of them and are highly anticipating the next one in March 2006. Jack and Annie once again go on an exciting mission. These books aren't just fun they are educational also. A must read for all

The Magic Tree House Series is wonderful. My 10 yr old daughter had been reading the series since she was 8. It appeals to both boys & girls. It also stresses cooperation & a bond between siblings. Not only is it fun but the author does an amazing job teaching kids about everything from history to animal species. Whenever a new book is coming out she insists on pre-ordering it so she can get it immediately!
