I have to say the series just gets better and better with every book Mary Pope Osbourne writes! Don't be afraid to jump around in the series to get kids hooked! We've read more than 30 books in the Magic Tree House series and my six year old picked up Ghosts after dinner, asked to get up from bed to finish one more chapter and then finished it after breakfast! A real page turner. Glad we got it in hard cover so it will last our favorite books tour of families! Thanks again Mary!

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!, September 24, 2009

I know some would say haw many times can an author take us on a journey with similar characters. I say Mary Pope Osbourne can. I am always surprised to see the story is fresh. I read them with my kids and because I do not want to recommend a book without reading it first.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Book, December 5, 2009
A Kid's Review
Jack and Annie go to New Orleans to meet Louis Armstrong. He is busy and can't hang out with them, so they tag along with him while he's working. I like the part when Jack and Annie follow Dipper (Louis' nickname) on the road. Jack and Annie have no shoes on so when they walk, they say "Ow!" This book was great because it has food in it, and Jack and Annie and Dipper eat gumbo and doughnuts. Like when they go in the River Cafe and they meet rude waiters there. This was a very interesting book. I would give it about 4 stars.

A book store said this book wasn't available yet but I was able to buy it online....at a price cheaper than paperback would have been later on when it came out. It was in mint condition --- better than described!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read, May 21, 2010

The Magic Tree House Series is wonderful. My 10 yr old daughter had been reading the series since she was 8. It appeals to both boys & girls. It also stresses cooperation & a bond between siblings. Not only is it fun but the author does an amazing job teaching kids about everything from history to animal species. Whenever a new book is coming out she insists on pre-ordering it so she can get it immediately!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, chilling, February 18, 2010
Magic Treehouse gets better and better. I wasn't thrilled about the earliest books but the latest set - about real historical figures - is just fantastic. This beautiful book about the blossoming of young Louis Armstrong is one of the best. We couldn't put it down. We've bought copies for many friends. The book about young Mozart is also excellent.
