5.0 out of 5 stars Tsunamis and Other Natural Disasters: A Nonfiction Companion to High Tide in Hawaii (Magic Tree House Research Guide #15), June 3, 2010

I read this book in conjunction with In2Books, a program which pairs willing adults with students in schools across the country. My student and I both enjoyed it a great deal.

This is a factual book with lots of information about natural disasters both modern and historical. There are even safety suggestions for those caught in these precarious situations. An enjoyable read for me as an adult, and my fourth grade student seemed equally enthralled.

My first grader used this for information to supplement a book report and thoroughly enjoyed it. Kids have a fascination with natural disasters, and this book approaches it in an informative and not-too-scary way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magic Tree House book -- Tsunamis and Other Natural Disasters, November 3, 2007
This review is from: Magic Tree House Fact Tracker #15: Tsunamis and Other Natural Disasters: A Nonfiction Companion to Magic Tree House #28: High Tide in Hawaii (Paperback)
Grandson is collecting all the Magic Tree House books and guides--haven't had a chance to read this one w/him yet -- but we haven't been disappointed yet. These are great books for children -- 1st - 3rd grade level especially. The guides are more detailed than the stories --- so can read over and over at different ages and the child will understand more each time.
