5.0 out of 5 stars This book is very powerful due to its simplicity

3.0 out of 5 stars not as good as the other books.
I love the Seth Books, and bought this one inspite of some of the reviews. However, it does not live up to the other books such as "Seth Speaks" and "Unknown Realities vol 1 and 2". In fact what I liked most about it was it wasn't filled up with pages and pages of notes from Robert Butts. The Magical Approach is 17 sessions that were given while Jane and Seth were...

I have read all of the previous Seth books and found a sharp contrast with this one. Previous books talk alot about the mechanics involved in idea construction, which is very interesting but aren't things we need to think about on a daily basis. This book really brings out the most important aspects of the Seth Material. The idea that we don't have to worry about all these underlying mechanisms and cause and effect. It is simply being open to the magic in the world and having the attitude to expect the best. It really takes all the previous books and says, "Here is how everything I've told you actually applies to daily life!" Great book! It's funny... I read this book about once a month and everytime I read it I ALWAYS find that particular passages jump out at me differently than the time before.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "How To" book on being the magician of your own life, November 27, 1999
This review is from: The Magical Approach: Seth Speaks About the Art of Creative Living (Jane Roberts) (Paperback)
As Jane states in an opening poem "What magicians we all are, turning darkness into light, transforming invisible atoms into the dazzling theater of the world...." A book of wonder, short but sweet and to the point. A critical work on creativity and how our industrial world attempts to enslave in the clock of 9 to 5. This book will help all overcome the dissonance between our overly rational work-a-day and dreaming selves. By opening to The Magical Approach you can grab the wheel of life and head out to the open road of creative living.

4.0 out of 5 stars Direct and very real, December 17, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: The Magical Approach: Seth Speaks About the Art of Creative Living (Jane Roberts) (Paperback)
There is an understated power in this book. It is not a Seth book in the usual sense (It is composed of sessions given between projects). Those accustomed to Seth's brilliant complexity may find the trance material too simple. Change focus:The theme here is how Seth's teachings came alive within the authors' lives. Like it or not (at first I didn't) this book will grow on you. The passage about their encounter with probable selves in a bar has the force of pure reality, and Seth's explanation is worth the whole book. To those of us who have wondered at the often extremely technical nature of the Seth Material this will be very welcome reading. At the end you may not become all that wise on the multidimensional views of the universe but you will have gained a lot of depth about the living context of the material

5.0 out of 5 stars If you "get it" it's powerful and life changing, January 3, 2008
This review is from: The Magical Approach: Seth Speaks About the Art of Creative Living (Jane Roberts) (Paperback)
Like many of the reviewers I've read most the Seth books. But, unlike many other Magical Approach reviewers this is one of my favorites and, in my opinion, one the most powerful Seth books. What is interesting is that I really had to put a lot of thought into the message to fully understand it, but once I did it had a major impact on my life and the way I see things.
In a nutshell Seth helps us see how we reach our goals in life and what work needs to be done by us vs. what work is "done for us" by the universe. Our job in this life is to know what we want and to keep focused on the ideal outcome. We don't have to worry about the thousands of details that might go into accomplishing our particular vision, especially all the things that might go wrong. Another key part of our work is to enjoy the moments of our life as they unfold. And we can in fact do this because we are getting assistance.
On a totally pragmatic level this book has had a major impact on my peace of mind. I do not worry nearly as much as I used to and have much more faith that what I desire will manifest if I simply keep my mind on it, trust my intuition and enjoy the moments. This is a wonderful knowing. And, best of all, my dreams are materializing, it's just easier and more fun now. I believe this is how we are meant to live - the natural life. So many of us just get off track.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to apply all that theory --- and complete "mass events", January 16, 2003
By
Michael "smath110" (San Diego, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Magical Approach: Seth Speaks About the Art of Creative Living (Jane Roberts) (Paperback)
Seth's other books are careful descriptions of reality -- from his point of view and in our terms. Rather abstract but excellent for understanding. There are a few concrete suggestions for putting this into practice in your life.

In Magical Approach, however, we see Seth coaching the author in how to use this material to face the specific health problems she's facing. Through her attempts, her failures, successes, and Seth's coaching, we have a case study of how the general, abstract material he's given can actually be used in a real life example.

It's true this material doesn't have the sweep and grandeur of his other books. The specific value of this book is for people who have specific problems they wish to address; or people who are generally interested in how to work with personal beliefs to change your personal experience of reality -- to improve your quality of life.

Another benefit of this book is that it does fit into the gap in Mass Events during which it is written. For me, these two books fit together very nicely: theory and practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars For anyone who works or plays creatively, June 26, 2006
This review is from: The Magical Approach: Seth Speaks About the Art of Creative Living (Jane Roberts) (Paperback)
Whether or not you are familiar with Seth, or are interested in the story of Rob, Jane and Seth, this book is one of the most liberating sources on creativity today. The book is about our innate creativity and how we can use it to solve problems, work and create our life without exaggerating the pressure between the rational mind and the intuitive mind, but instead finding a way for these to co-operate. Highly recommended. Every time I read this book I get something new out of it. The best thing is that every time I read it I remember my own power of choice and creativity.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Seth books for those who create., March 15, 1999

This review is from: The Magical Approach: Seth Speaks About the Art of Creative Living (Jane Roberts) (Paperback)
Great book. I have read the Seth books for 20 years, and I found this to be one of the best and most practical. This is especially good for those individuals who are in the so-called artistic professions: writing, painting, etc.

In these days of trusting outside sources more than we accept and trust ourselves, "The Magical Approach" helps strike the balance between what we conceptualize and what we KNOW. Seth jogs the memory and has helped me make the leap from religion to Me...pretty cool stuff if I do say so mySelf...thanks Jane and Rob...as a fellow pioneer of a new, and fun, if I have anything to do with it, reality, I salute you!

3.0 out of 5 stars not as good as the other books., April 19, 2010

This review is from: The Magical Approach: Seth Speaks About the Art of Creative Living (Jane Roberts) (Paperback)
The Magical Approach is 17 sessions that were given while Jane and Seth were producing another book. Some of Robert Butt's essays are just too much for these books, as I would rather read what Seth has to say and not so much of a commentary.

I would pick this one last if you feel you need to read the whole collection. Start with "Seth Speaks, and the Nature of Personal Reality and you will get the jist of the message.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just be..., September 7, 2007
By
This review is from: The Magical Approach: Seth Speaks About the Art of Creative Living (Jane Roberts) (Paperback)
This is one of Seth's best - an easy and accessiblee book exploring the magic power of creative thinking.

To paraphrase Seth elsewhere: the god principle (as it would come close to our god concept) is really about the urge to be. All reality is expressed intent; it is open-ended and limitless> So is our own potential, even though we may experience a limited amount of that creative freedom in our current form.

The gist then is not to worry about how it all coems to be - simply be creative and try things out. Have an adventure in life and enjoy it too, no fretting and worrying. If you believe in your own well-being then you are well and like magic, things come together. For that you need to hold onto a dash of childlike innocence and wonder.

It is one of those books I recommend to my clients and acquaintances.

If you need an intorduction to Jane or Seth read Speaking of Jane Roberts: Remembering the Author of the Seth Material, and Conversations With Seth, Book 2: 25th Anniversary Edition
