5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful follow-up to After The Rain, March 18, 2006

This review is from: Magical Child (Audio CD)
For unknown reasons, this CD has (until recently) been a little harder to find than most of Michael Jones' works. It is almost a continuation of the classic AFTER THE RAIN with the delicate additions of cello, oboe, and flute. A little more lively, particularly with the opening track, "Sunrise". But like all of his CDs, this is beautiful, enchanting, soothing--and yet never boring. None of the so-called "new age" pianists out there can hold my interest as consistently as Michael Jones. He is truly unique, and this disc, like all of his, should be heard by anyone who appreciates other new age, classical or even jazz piano.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timelessness, July 11, 2009

I have communicated with Michael Jones about timelessness in his music. Many of his compositions exceed ten minutes, including Sunrise and Country Dance on this disc. My theory is that, composing or playing. Michael simply does not want to stop.
The exquisite Lullaby of Magical Child is something else. It is but 5:19 in duration but is like a sampling of a perfectly flowing timeless stream. All of Michael's music is wonderful, but Lullaby is musical ambrosia.
