About the Author

Elizabeth Pepper was a well-known and respected member in the occult community, as well as the editor of The Witches' Almanac from the 1970's until her death in 2005.

Barbara Stacy has been writing and copy editing for The Witches' Almanac for decades. She is the author of "Ancient Roman Holidays" and co-author with Elizabeth Pepper of "Magical Creatures," both published by The Witches' Almanac, Ltd. Barbara Stacy also writes feature articles, and she reviews restaurants and writes about food.

It's a small book, and so it's relatively simple. It's basically a collection of information about various and sundry animals ranging from mythology to folklore to word-of-mouth. Understandably since it's a collection of essays by different people rather than a singly-authored book it isn't so in-depth, but it's not worth the $12 new price. Pick it up used--there's an occasional gem amid the stuff that can be found just about anywhere else.

I loved this book really loved this book it was a quick read but a good one it was helpful in learning about beings .

The cover was nice love the colers so for the content and out side i highly recamend it.
