Magical Creatures; magical album,

This review is from: Magical Creatures (Audio CD)
A long-time fan of Richard Searles, I can say without reservation that I believe this to be his best album to date. This collection of Mr Searles original compositions is more reflective than his earlier works; the track 'Unicorn' for example, on this album is nothing like the light hearted piece of the same name on his earlier Earth Quest album. The pieces are musical interpretations of mythical and magical creatures from ancient times and texts, and the album is quietly Renaissance in overall tone. There is never a bad track on any of Richard Searles albums as he is very conscientous about his productions, and it shows down to the high quality of the recording itself. This album would appeal to anyone except maybe the really hardcore Death Metal crowd. Some of them might be into it too, who knows? :-) Use the sound samples above to see for yourself, and then go buy this album; for while it's not Death Metal, it still totally Rocks.
