Ambush Books is the brainchild of award-winning children’s book author Douglas Rees, his literary agent Laurie McLean and super-blogger Pam van Hylckama Vlieg. Often their luncheon conversations would involve tales of fabulous classic children’s books that were no longer available for purchase. What a shame! So Ambush Books represents their quest to bring these abandoned treasures out of the dark caves where they’ve been hidden away by publishers in order to share them with the tweens and teens of today. Ambush will also publish books in series that never saw the light of day as well as anthologies introducing new voices to today’s middle grade and YA audiences.
