Magical Michael!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Magical Moments From Great Musicals (Audio CD)
This is an incredible CD. I simply cannot express how much I adore it. All of the music is beautiful, and the arrangements are wonderful. Seven of the songs (Music of the Night, On the Street Where You Live, Bring Him Home, Maria, If Ever I Would Leave You, Oh What a Beautiful Mornin' and All the Things You Are) feature the amazing vocals of the Tony Award-winning Michael Maguire, the original Enjolras on Broadway in Les Misérables. His voice is beautiful, strong and absolutely mesmerizing! Maria and Bring Him Home are the best pieces on here, but every single one is great. The best orchestral pieces are Sun and Moon and Strange Music. This is a must-have for Maguire fans and I strongly recommend it for any musical lover.

Maguire is Fabulous-- And So Is This CD,

It seems like every Broadway star has a CD these days: Elaine Paige, Ron Bohmer, and Colm Wilkinson to name a few. Now Michael Maguire has lent his voice to seven of the tracks on this CD. How's anybody supposed to decide what to buy?Buy this CD! Maguire is superb on this recording. His Music of the Night is superior to that of many Phantoms. He does some interesting things with Bring Him Home like using changing one note to two in several places. The effect is beautiful. Maria and On The Street Where You Live are. very good. Maguire affects a realistic accent for Oh What A Beautiful Morin' and proves he can hit high notes with All The Things You Are. And I've saved the best for last. If Ever I Would Leave You can only be described as a tour de force. Maguire is magnetic and, for lack of a better word, sexy. It makes you wonder why he never played Lancelot on stage.

Exquisite...a "must have" for your collection. The intro to "All the Things You Are" is worth the price, and that's a tiny part of this CD! Michael, more recordings, please. You're the greatest. :-)

A Joy To Listen To...,

With the combination of Skitch Henderson's musical adaptation's and Michael Maguire's voice, this is a CD worthy to be in your collection. Michael was in San Antonio last year with the San Antonio Symphony and proved his voice is right up there with therest of the great tenor's of today.

A 5, but for a few songs,
This review is from: Magical Moments From Great Musicals (Audio CD)
As the title might suggest, there were only two songs which kept me from rating this a 5; as I am who I am I will begin with the negative. Track 1, the instrumental "Phantom" theme, went on for about 3 minutes 33 seconds too long. "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'" wasn't great, either; it really didn't fit the singer at all, and the attempt at an Appalachian accent was only apparent on a few exceedingly awkward words. Now to accentuate the positive: Despite "Beautiful Mornin'", I adore Michael Maguire's voice. The original Broadway Enjolras (Les Mis) continues to be generally outstanding. His "Maria" was beautiful; ditto for "On the Street Where you Live," "If Ever I Should Leave You," and "All The Things You Are." The one song that stands out for me is Maguire's rendition of "Music of the Night." I'm not even sure how to start to review this song without shamelessly kvelling. ... ... Breathtaking. Melt-worthy. Stunningly, paralyzingly gorgeous. =) That's all, I suppose. If you're a fan of Michael's ... buy it. Now. And ignore the first track.

A nice little collection of songs... $19 is a bit steep though.,

Let me just first say that I am a huge Michael Maguire fan. I've loved him since I first saw him in the 'Les Miz in Concert' DVD, I think he's a fantastic singer and a wonderful, charismatic performer.I'm not a huge fan of this cd though, mainly because he only sings 7 of the 16 tracks, and the some of the songs didn't showcase his talent. His 'Music of The Night' and 'Bring Him Home' were both wonderful though. Even though it's not an extraordinary memorable cd I would still recommend it to any Michael fan.
