very disappointing,

This review is from: Magical World of Harry Potter (Audio CD)
Promo says recorded by "Big Movie Orchestra" but it sounds more like a couple of synthesizers. The "strings" are OK but anything on brass or wind sounds AWFUL. Some tracks are not even on pitch. Seller would not refund, either - adding insult to injury! Now it's a handsome coaster for my desk!:-)

Buyer beware! [No, I do not own this.],
This review is from: Magical World of Harry Potter (Audio CD)
Don't shoot me just yet! Even if I don't own this actual product, I recognize the style of the cover art, because the same "artist" (The "Big Movie Orchestra") did a similar album for the Star Wars films. And the experience was HORRIBLE.Yes, as the other one-star reviewer said, this orchestra is really a bunch of synthesizers playing together. Actually, for all we know, it could be one very enterprising guy with a single synthesizer, a metronome, and a multi-track recorder. The TONE of the music is simply awful. I cannot say anything for how accurately these pieces were reproduced (I suspect these arrangements were not authorized by Williams, since the ones from the "Star Wars" album were DEFINITELY off) but I can safely guess that the tone of these is simply awful. It will sound nothing like a real, respectable orchestra and probably make your ears (if not your brain) melt at how un-magical it renders Williams' brilliant score. Don't buy it! Don't buy it! I've had my say; NOW you can start biting me and calling my review unhelpful and stuff.
