5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product!
Since I was starting the HCG protocol diet, I wanted to make sure that I followed the protocol to a "T". Of course this meant I needed to buy hygiene products that would keep to the standards of the diet. Magick Botanicals was mentioned as an "acceptable" product in the HCG book I ordered. I am so impressed with the Magick Botanicals oil-free shampoo and conditioner...

I too am disconcerted by the lack of lather and the consistency, which I consider to be about the same as water. Because it is so thin and barely lathers it doesn't spread well through my hair and I end up using a lot of it to get all my hair clean. That said, it does do a nice job of cleaning and leaving my hair soft and shiny and doesn't make my scalp itch like harsher...

I am so impressed with the Magick Botanicals oil-free shampoo and conditioner. I was worried because it was "oil-free" that my hair would be dry and frizzy but it is quite the opposite. My hair has never been softer, shinier and smoother. I like this product so much that I plan on continuing it after the protocol!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for fragrance sensitive!, May 15, 2010

No harsh odor. No botanical fragrance or other perfume smelling stuff. Rinses out pretty well.

With respect to runny, didn't have that problem. It's a liquid. You pop the cap, tilt it, and it flows out by gravity. It's not honey-level viscosity and it's not water-level runny.

Made my hair feel softer and smoother. Took a few washings the first couple times to get it to lather. After regular use, it just takes one washing now unless I'm pretty dirty.

It's a fragrance-free shampoo that doesn't smell like botanicals, flowers, or other scented things.

Know someone with a fragrance sensitivity or have one yourself? Give this a try.

I love that it's fragrance-free and does not smell like natural botanicals or any of the others out there that don't add fragrances but still smell like a flower field or something. When you've got fragrance sensitivities, even those may not work well. This worked on some of the most fragrance sensitive people I know. And for their friends who had to change products just to be around them, they liked it (and they can use any shampoo out there).

I don't have a problem with fragrances (that I know of) but I AM allergic to ammonia and highly sensitive to acidic ingredients (citrus). I am VERY pleased with this shampoo. I've tried a number of different organics but this one really made my hair soft & shiny and settled down the itchiness that other products seemed to give. I love the conditioner because it detangled without leaving my hair greasy.
This is not a thick shampoo but you will not need a lot to clean your hair. It's necessary to give it time to remove the additives from other shampoos, so give it a few times before you decide. I've also noticed if my hair is extra dirty that it won't lather as well either, but the second shampoo generally produces a light lather.

I purchased Magick Botanicals Oil Free Shampoo and Conditioner. because I was on a food program that did not allow oil-based skin or hair products. Truly, I wasn't looking forward to a product that may dry my scalp and hair out. Surprise! I love it and tho I'm not on the diet any longer, I still use the shampoo and conditioner because my hair and scalp are healthier than ever. I have had allergic reaction to chemicals now for many years and never realized that my shampoos and conditioners were creating an allergic reaction on my scalp. I kept switching from one beauty supply brand to another...still getting an itchy scalp. No more! Magick Botanicals is my brand forever! Packaging 3 bottles together is a great idea, because I think it will balance out with the one bottle of conditioner I bought. I always have had a lot of conditioner left long after the shampoo is gone. I will stick with Magick Botanicals Oil Free Shampoo from now on.

5.0 out of 5 stars great, December 16, 2010

this is absolutely the only shampoo my Mom can use. She asks for it every Christmas! She is super sensitive to fragrance of any kind. Her hair always looks great, so it is obviously doing a good job.

That said, it does do a nice job of cleaning and leaving my hair soft and shiny and doesn't make my scalp itch like harsher shampoos. I also like that it doesn't have an unpleasant odor like some fragrance free stuff has. I would really like it if the company would give more product information explaining the consistency and low lather and giving any suggestions as to how best to use the product. The company website gives NO information other than the product name, photo, amount and price. A little sales copy justifying the watery product would be really helpful.

I have to use more shampoo and it does not foam up well. I do not feel like I have shampooed my hair after using this product. I will not buy this again.

This shampoo is too runny to lather, and I have a difficult time getting my shoulder-length hair as clean as I'd like.

I'm allergic to most "hypo-allergenic" shampoos - since they still have fragrance. It's hard to find a fragrance free shampoo that's still does a good job at it's primary function of being a shampoo. Magick Botanicals is not one of those finds. It does not have fragrance and does not have ill effects - but as a shampoo it sucks. It's water thin, runny, does not work up to much of a lather, and doesn't do a good job at a shampoo. Don't waste your money.

I regret that it's a 3-pack - not sure what to do with them all - maybe I'll sell them online.

I also bought, Earth Science Fragrance Free Shampoo, best shampoo ever.
