When not writing, Laura works for the Knox County Public Library System where she is First Assistant at the Carter Branch, hikes her native Appalachian mountains, plays a harp with the head of a unicorn and occasionally fences with the SFWA Musketeers. She lives in East Tennessee with her parents and a pernicious feline of few grey cells who frequently forgets that windows do have glass.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful character, September 8, 2003

This review is from: Magic's Song: Tales of the Harper Mage (Paperback)
This collection of stories about the Harper Mage Anwyn Baldomyre is absolutely lovely. He is a charming and engaging character whose smart-talking, constant companion (the harp Glynnanis) is an absolute hoot. When I first got the book I only meant to read a couple of stories since I was reading another book at the time but Anwyn just dragged me in and I had to finish it. I loved the stories and can't wait for a full novel to expand on the world and the characters. Wonderful.
