Tiesto's latest on Ultra Records is a collection of his past and present catalog of hits which by the way are all separate individual tracks, not beat mixed. The problem I had with this collection isn't with the songs themselves but the shortened time lengths on certain songs. Don't be fooled by Amazon's tracklist times of some of these songs, many are incorrect. What they have listed is the download version of "Magikal Journey" not the physical cd itself which is what I'm reviewing. For example On Disc One "Suburban Train" clocks in at 3:25, "Lethal Industry" at 2:44, "Just Be" at 3:12, - all edited versions. Onto Disc Two which highly edits "In The Dark" to 4:36, "Elements Of Life" (a live version radio edit no less) clocks in at 3:34, and "Carpe Nocturne" at 4:34! You'd think that considering the second disc which runs a tad over sixty three minutes, they'd have added longer versions, but again the customer gets shafted. In my opinion some of Tiesto's best songs have been chopped to pieces and some mediocre ones given their full length versions. And why a Tiesto 2010 remix of "In The Dark" at the end of the second disc? Quite frankly if this is the best Tiesto (or Ultra Records) could come up with as a collection of his past and present songs it's pretty pathetic.

I agree with the reviewers that were critical of the song selections. Beware that this is a collection of mostly short, pop songs. Disappointing, because DJ Tiesto is a master at creating unique and relaxing moods with his long instrumental creations. If you have a short list of favorite trance songs, better get the CD they came on instead, or just download your favorites.

DJ Tiesto was a great addition to the TRANCE genre. His seven SUNRISES are all amazing. BUT: he started totally change his style with KALEIDOSCOPE = "too thin layered" - he can do better. It almost sounds like he put his name on somebody-else' amateur work.

And: MAGICAL JOURNEY might have all his hits, but they are NOT mixed together. As such, ... whenever you get your hopes / feelings up, ... there ... is ... a ... break. I listened to it once and since I have all those hits perfectly mixed on THE SUNRISES, I threw it in the trash.

If you are a real TRANCE fan, ... don't bother with this one.

this is 2 cds and i only liked 1 song off each disc. for me this was a waste of money, i could've bought a different cd if i knew i would'nt going to like it. i won't buy another cd by tiesto.

Huge Tiesto fan but definitely not a rip off fan.... If you have already most of these songs don't bother buying, this is just a commercial move made by Black Hole record to obtain the most out of Tiesto music. Remember that Tiesto already left the label. I guess they want to extract the most of the music rights.

If you are a trance music fan dont go and buy same songs new versions spend that money on new songs, new artists.

Overall the songs are great; all of the songs are classic Tiestos hits with some new versions. But not worth the $10, this should be free for a Tiesto fan that has most of his records. Like a Black Hole farewell bonus to the fans....

I guess we are not in an altruist world

First, this is a remixed collection of past songs, it is a Hits Collection. So, if you expect all new music, this may not be great for you.

But, I am a fan of Tiesto, and it is nice to have a set of these songs with variations on mixes.

Also, I'm unsure of another reviewers comments, saying the tracks are short, I bought the digital downloads from Amazon, and it wouldn't fit on 2 standard discs, I'm listening to it right now, and the tracks on the album I bought do match Amazon's time counters on the playlist.

And for under $10, this is a good volume of music to have on hand.

This album is amazing! I love Obsession, Magikal Circus, and Dance4life. This album is my choice for jogging and driving.

This album is awesome. It features many of Tiesto's best stuff. If you like to dance and rave this is the album for you. Every track is funky. You will not be disappointed Check Tiesto out at Electric Forest Music Festival June 30 to July 3 in Rothbury MI. Don't miss it.

I'm a huge fan of artists remixing their own stuff. And Tiesto's remixes on this album, for me, are a pleasant new addition to his collection. It also has some of my favorites, which makes it even better.

I saw Tiesto in D.C. and it was absolutely amazing! And now, he's playing again this summer at the Electric Forest Fest in Rothbury, Michigan! I can't wait for it, it's going to be incredible!

Why do record companies always do this. Put the original songs on the cd. Who cares about if full versions are onmp3. I don't use lower quality format of MP3's!
