Well I know that the seller is beyond great... And this situation has nothing to do with them in any sort of way. I got my item very fast and there were no complaints towards that. Plus I have to give them the utmost respect for the notice that said does not work on 64 bit systems. So with that being said, the program itself is the problem. I don't understand how my brother has XP 64-Bit and it works perfectly fine, but me having Vista 64-Bit makes it freeze up causing a hard boot. Doesn't make any sense considering the package clearly states the systems it operates with, and Vista being one of them. Doesn't say anything about not operating on 64 bit systems and for that I am completely disappointed with the product.

The DVD shrink process does not work properly. It is supposed to shrink double layer DVDs to single layer. The resulting file will not fit on a single layer DVD. Worse, when reporting this to technical support, despite receiving auto acknowledgement of my report, they have ignored 3 attempts over 3 weeks to address the problem. Stay away from this product.

Hello everyone.

This is not really a review as I do not own this product, it is just to try and provide some information.

With any older software, even up to about a year and a half ago you will want to assume that it will not work on 64bit systems.

A few years ago most software boxes listed whether it would work on a 32bit or 64bit system. Very few programs ever said 64bit. You usually specifically had to order them in from the manufacturer, at least in my town anyway.

As far as Windows XP 64bit and Widows Vista 64bit they are completely different programs and built on totally different cores. Vista started over from scratch and was built new from the ground up while Windows XP was built on the Windows Professional 2000 core.

I personally do not own either Vista 64bit or Win 7 64bit but my brother does have a machine running Windows 7 64bit. He told me many of his older programs refuse to work on his new system especially games.

I do know that older programs were not programed for the type of computer systems available now which are much more powerful and can utilize mass amounts of ram and multi-core cpu configurations which can confuse some of this software.

There is a mode in Windows 7 64bit called something like Emulate 32Bit Windows. I do not know how well it works but it might be worth a try.

If you have a new computer with Windows 7 and a lot of older software that you still want to use one option might be to set up a dual boot system where you have say Windows XP installed at the front of the hard drive in it's own partition.

I would only suggest this if you really need to use some older software but it may work ok.
