To be quite honest, I purchase a lot of products from Amazon, but rarely take out the time to write a review. However, for this product I must say a few words.

No I am not throwing around that 4-star rating effortlessly, however the amount of effort I save by using the Flatform 4 should be recognized. I replaced a set of hand-carts with this hand "truck" and I could not be happier. The construction is superb, it folds down and expands in under 10 seconds and holds a great deal of stuff in place while transporting. It is extremely sturdy (it holds more than 300lbs), although I would not make a habit of it.

I would presume that you are interested in purchasing this hand truck because of its unique ability to fold down into such a compact size, and you would be right. Even though it can handle such a great deal of weight, the wheels move freely, it never locks up and then folds down into a compact size which is perfect for travel. I personally liked it so much, I bought a second unit which I keep in the trunk of my car at all times. It takes up such little space that I don't even mind or notice it being there. It has come in handy on many occasions. I purchased some office furniture recently and while I had help getting the furniture in the car, my only help getting it out was the Flatform Truck - but boy was it convenient and saved me a great deal of time and stress on my back.

Due to it's compact size, it is easily able to carry a hefty load while navigating through tight spaces. Not only that, but it is fairly easy to take over a step-up (not stairs) or a curb for example. This is a very valuable feature that I don't think is really advertised much.

I have trouble walking and have limited strength due to a disabling illness. I've long dreamed of buying a cart with a big platform for the times that my traditional hand truck isn't appropriate for what I need to move, but never tried to find one. But when I had new rug installed recently, I got motivated to try to find the cart of my dreams. The installers were able to move my furniture -- but only after I'd emptied and moved everything stored in or on top of things. Among other things, I had 6 large bookcases full of books to move. So I knew I had to find a cart to use. Luckily, I found this one, because it works perfectly. I'd been worried about buying the very common, less expensive platform carts because they had tiny wheels that I feared would not move well over the carpet. Also, reviews indicated that wheels had actually broken off those cheaper carts. This cart looked promising because of its big wheels. PLUS, it weighs much less, it easily folds into a very compact shape for storage, AND it has an adjustable handle that is much higher than on the cheaper carts. (I'm tall and didn't want to crouch into an awkward position for pulling the cart, thus adding to my trouble walking.)

I just can't say enough positive things about this cart. It performed beautifully -- well beyond my expectations, actually. Whoever engineered all its excellent features was brilliant. Truly. I'm so glad that I spent an extra $20 to get this cart instead of a less expensive one. (I paid about $60 when I bought mine.) Since I have nothing but praise for this cart, you might wonder if I'm a fake reviewer with stock in that Magna Cart company -- or if I'm being paid by them to write this review. But I'm just a disabled person living alone in a rural area. This cart is going to get so much use!

I bought this and the Magna Cart(tm) MCX at the same time. Was tired of carrying stuff. I put both of them in my car. I have used the Magna Cart Flatform hand truck more than the Magna Cart(tm) MCX. Both are great products.

The Flatform truck is easy to use. Rolls very smoothly. Folds up very flat. Is sturdy enough to hold the 300 lbs as advertised. It works as advertised. The only negative is that there is no wheel brakes on it. So it will roll away unless the surface is level.

I'm going to buy more for Christmas presents this year.

I bought one of these at Costco. Like all folding carts, hand trucks or dollys the handle is too short for it to be pushed. I'm 6 feet tall, not too much above average, and I have to haunch over to push this thing. The fitting of the parts isn't all that good. It takes some fiddling to put it away. The biggest shortcoming is the surface. It is way too slick. A slight grade or a short stop will cause what you have on it to slide off. It also lacks convenient points to tie anything down. I'd say it is worth about half of the price asked at the date of this writing ($67.57 2012-03-07).

Edit: After owning it for a while I decided my previous two stars was far too harsh. After some use, it no longer takes any fiddling to put away. The other criticisms still hold but they aren't severe enough to rate two stars.

I'd like to add a comment about the wheels. If anything, they are too good. They are solid and it appears that they have good bearings. Again, this problem shows up with a slight grade, like a driveway, it will roll if not blocked.

Mine was stolen and I am buying another one, which tells you more than any of the above.
