Avoid at all costs,
I bought two of these pieces of junk a few weeks ago, and both of them have split along the tubes so they are useless. The lightweight hose is great to use, but it just doesn't last.

Worked great...for a while,
By Derek Sage (St. Louis, MO USA) - See all my reviews I contacted Melnor, their name was on this and they gave me a "bum rush" regarding this and disavowed any responsibility...sort of odd, since their BRAND name is on it. So, I guess this goes to the dump. Don't waste your money if you are expecting this to work long term.

Love this hose!!,
By Diane (NC) - See all my reviews I have a large yard and the expensive (rubber) hoses were much too heavy to drag around, and the cheaper hoses were, also. In addition, all the other hoses kink. The only small negative is that the pressure is not as good as standard hoses -- but for straight watering it is no problem. If I want to use a sprinkler, I have to turn the water on harder than for other hoses. But all in all, I think it's a super hose and I'm buying 2 more.

Benefits outweigh the bad,

This review is from: Magna-hose 50ft On Reel (As Seen On TV) (Kitchen)
Despite the well-documented and undeniable faults of the Magna Hose, I continue to use them solely for benefit of its lightness even when full of water. Instead of fighting a heavy hose, the Magna Hose is easy to maneuver through the garden without damaging plants. I have never had a hose fail as quickly as has been described. Depending on how I've treated them, they last anywhere from a year to about four years. I can attest to a 20 minute life span around horses.
Throw away the useless reel and don't count on the spray nozzle lasting for more than a month. I accept that I will be replacing them ever so often and that they will not be the hose of choice for putting out a fire or anything that needs high pressure. They are a lightweight hose to be used for hand watering and are not as durable--nor as heavy--as a standard 3 to 6 ply vinyl or rubber garden hose. To me, the light weight is worth the replacement cost at the rate I go through them. Sara http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H5R0J2/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_img |
