4.0 out of 5 stars Cinderella Aussie Style., April 1, 2011

This romantic saga starts off with confused identities but ends up as a true Cinderella story. Good plot and well developed characters especially those of Isabella, Cristo, and Francessa. I wish I got a better insight into Justin's character, to assess his nature / role as the future husband and father to Chessie and her baby. This is worthy of my 4.5 stars.

This review is from: Magnate's Make-Believe Mistress (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
I came across this book because I was looking for something inexpensive and quick to read. I was pleasantly surprised by this book considering i paid less than two dollars for it. Book is primarily about Isabelle, who works as a housekeeper in Australia for people who rent very expensive homes. Story begins with a man called Hugh Harrington who lives in London, and gets a message from a woman named Isabelle claiming he was the father of the child she was carrying. Hugh was completely shocked, since he couldn't remember her and was about to get married to the love of his life Amanda. Hugh goes to Cristo, Amanda's brother, for advise fearing scandal and Cristo said he would investigate.

Cristo, was a very wealthy and handsome man, travels to Australia and hires Isabelle as his housekeeper. He was determined to find out the truth before his sister married Hugh. When he first met Isabelle, he couldn't tell because she was dressed in an ugly and very loose fitting uniform. He slowly starts his rapport with her, trying to get information from her and getting to know her. He is beginning to realize he was attracted to her and couldn't imagine her with Hugh. Isabelle was beautiful, even behind the ugly clothes, she was funny, smart, hard working and caring. She discovered Cristo's real intentions and comes clean with her own secret as well: her sister was the one pregnant and not her.

Cristo takes both sisters to London to confront Hugh personally. In London, Cristo and Isabelle find themselves in a compromising situation and in order to avoid scandal, he told everyone Isabelle was his mistress. Cristo treats Isabelle like a princess and buys her things so she can fulfill her "role". Slowly, they begin to know each other better. She falls in love with him, but realizes he is not into forever, since his mother ruined that concept for him. The second drama with her sister continues in the background as well.

Fairly predicatable ending, but story was still enjoyable to read, light and romantic. It was like pretty woman, minus the prostitute...... plus the housekeeper factor! Modern day cinderella, fluffy reading.

A modern-day love story. I really like it. Short read though, I wish it was much longer.
