I did much research in finding a replacement TV for my bedroom. This one had a few good things going for it, most important the price which was very good. I will admit I am spoiled as my primary TV is a Samsung 1080p, which is awesome.

Downsides: The picture on this TV is not perfect guess that is due to the 720p resolution. It is fine for the bedroom or secondary TV but I would not suggest for a main TV if you love to watch crisp and clear picture. Also this TV only contains 2 HDMI outputs just so you know one cable box and one Blue ray and that is it.

Would recommend TV due to price point and Magnavox name.

I was given this TV as a birthday present. It has a great picture, and the sound was surprisingly good. It was easy to hook up, and the controls and settings are very easy to use. It has 2 HDMI connections for future purchases, but for now I have my Wii, Old DVD player, and VCR hooked to the composite input via a switch box that I got from Radio Shack for $20. All in all I'm very pleased with it, it's a great value.

My husband purchased this for me for Christmas, it was bought back at the end of October but was not opened until Christmas, the TV only has maybe 10 hours max on it because it is in the bedroom. It cut off while watching it, it will not turn back on, the standby light is not on either, I called tech service they want me to pay for repairs since it was bought in October and it is now March.. I will never buy another Magnavox EVER !

Magnavox used faulty capacitors in the power supply. That is why so many of these just die out of nowhere. The faulty capacitors are made by a company called capxon. My TV had 3 capacitors made by this company, 2 of them were bad (bad capacitors will have a rounded top and sometimes you can see fluid leaking from them). If you know how to solder it is an easy and cheap fix to replace the bad caps. About $5 in parts about 5 minutes worth of soldering and maybe 30 minutes more to take the TV apart and put it back together. Of course make sure you buy a different brand of capacitor, as the capxon ones are complete garbage.

I bought two of these Magnovox LCD TVs. One has died 1 year to the day, actually day 366 from the purchase date. I called Funai (Magnovox) and they did offer to honor the one year 'limited' warranty. They pay for parts but no labor. Unwilling to send the 70 dollars for labor, I am stuck with a dust collecting black box. Magnovox will never get another red cent from me.

The remote layout could be better and connections for cables (PC, DVD, etc.) are not the easiest to get to but overall a very good TV for the price. I an not a video nut but to me the picture looks very nice.

This TV is a clone of the Sylvania LC320SS2. You can't adjust the backlight! It is at full brightness. This is fine if you're gonna watch in a really bright room, but even with the other picture controls, you cannot tame the light, so the "blacks" are really washed out in a dark or low lit room, such as your bedroom at night. Ruins the picture :(
I had the $199 Haier 32" a week or so prior (unfortunately, my sample had a flickering picture, overblown whites and HMDI connector problems -read my review), BUT it still had a superior picture compared to this Sylvania, which has really bad pixelization when objects move around the screen.

I bought this TV 7 months ago and I liked it. The picture was good, the sound quality was good. Then yesterday I was watching TV and it went black. The TV just DIED. Black screen, no sound, no warning, either. It will just not turn back on. I called customer service and was informed that because it is 7 months past the purchase date, they will cover parts, but I will have to pay $70 for labor. I spoke with a supervisor and with the warranty department and they agree. I looked online and there have been multiple complaints about this exact same mechanism of disaster and the same response from Magnavox. I will obviously strongly recommend against anyone buying this product and I will certainly avoid this company in general. If you buy this, I wish you better luck than I had.
