The Smart Picture feature tailors picture settings (color, tint, contrast, etc.) to different types of programs with the touch of a button, while the Smart Sound feature deeps loud commercials in check. The volume level adjusts automatically when there's a significant increase in sound. The 3D digital comb filter and 3D motion-adaptive deinterlacing enhance picture sharpness for a crisp, natural look. It has a resolution of 1366 by 720 pixels, 500-1 contrast ratio, 550 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, 16 ms (millisecond) response time, and 170-degree viewing angle. Our old 27" tube TV died and because of the digital/HD broadcasts being pushed now, we decided to go LCD. We picked this one because of the name brand and the picture quality. We have had it now for about three weeks and it is doing great. We didn't expect the picture quality to be different on the analog channels, but it is so much clearer. DVDs are so sharp and clear, even though we don't have a progressive scan DVD player. Liked all the plugs for a wide variety of peripherals. The screen size is perfect for our living room. This is a great TV.

Realize first of all that maganvox is philips so be assured of quality. Im delighted with it.

Only draw back is the PIP i understand only works with the pc MODE as monitor not on cable channels.

Also taKe care getting it out of the box ! it s got styrofoam on either end to protect it do not pull it out from the middle of the screen i almost broke mine! pull from the side or just cut the box on the side. then tape it back for later storage.

ALL in all you can put it to stand it looks very nice or put it on the wall and it has lots of hook up s and connection for alll kinds of equipment (plenty) more than i need.

The pics are very good i watched a dave chappel dvd on my playstation and it is sharp for an lcd buy the service plan they will fix or replace it if the srceen is damaged with bright spots! (very handy) instead of fixing it your self.

i would recoommned this instead of a plasma which cost too much and suffer burn-in issues. which by the way thier service plans cost more becaus eof thier size over $500.00 more! but if money is not your problem do as you please this is a good option if you want style without breaking the bank!

I am puchasing my third Magnavox HDTV today. I am very delighted with the picture and sound quality of this TV. It started out with just one, and then I was hooked. I am replacing the last "tube" set with a 32" Magnavox. You will be very pleased with the quality, and and a reasonable price also.
