Shipping was very prompt. The thermoplastic dowels are different sizes, allowing you to customize the amount of compression. It is ergonomic, and the handles are about 4" long with nice, effective magnets. The only machine flaw was a small burr, which was easily removed. I cleaned it with cotton swabs and vinegar, as it suggests, and removed the shavings. The threads are fine yet strong, so it's easy to press pollen tightly. Even before the burr was removed, the threads were smooth, I only noticed it because the cotton got stuck on it. Inside diameter is about 5/8", and the dowels fit true and snug. Great value, so I give it 5 stars!

Originally I gave this product 5 stars. Thats until I noticed metal shavings from the threads in my finished product. I also would NOT suggest using this on bubble extracted pollens. You will loose a lot from it sticking inside the press and also it making its way past the spacers. Its good for using it with screened pollens, but just don't press it to tight. But, isn't that the point of this tool? I'm not so happy with it anymore buyers beware.

This product sucks, the first time i used it the threads stripped and I almost couldn't get it open, when I finally did get it open there were metal shavings all inside mixed in with the pollen, what a waste. The metal is very soft allowing the threads to strip very easily. Threw it away after first use due to it being no longer usable. SAVE YOU MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***UPDATE 8/18/2013
Found a replacement! If you want a really great pollen press, get a Sharpstone. They are nearly perfect.
SharpStone® 3.5 Inch T-Shaped Stainless Steel Pollen Press

I really wish I could suggest an alternative to this product, but I have yet to find anything that works significantly better. This press is horribly awkward to use. The center piece gets stuck whenever you try to press stuff, and since its completely round you have to use a wrench or something to get it unstuck...scratching and dinging the cheap aluminum body all to hell! Used mine a few times and now I don't even bother...just not worth the trouble, this thing is terribly impractical!

Threads need to be worked and shavings need to be cleaned before use. The handles are what make this "pollen" press really awesome, even if you over crank and lock up a side or want to use it one sided the handles fit on the inside piece for easy removal. I was able to heat it up and freeze it while pressing and get very good product with no damage or change in the metal or plastic cores.
Overall Very functional product, much better price than similar presses and good shipping time.
9.5/10

I had an old press without the handles and it was okay, it really wrecked my hands after awhile. The handles make it much more easier to press. The only downfall that I had was losing a magnet in one of the handles. But overall, a very good product.
