Well worth the investment!,

This "magnetic" line of building toys is, in my opinion, a fantastic investment for children. My boys have been collecting and building with these since I first discovered them about 2 years ago when they were 5 & 8. Now at 7 & 10 the magnets are still the same, the objects they build are more elaborate and more sets are required!
It is the ONLY "toy" they have that is ALWAYS out. I have several large coffee cans that we keep them in, the magnets cling to the can too so it is great when it gets knocked over! This particular set has a box which enables you to store a lot more pieces than are actually included. You WILL be disappointed when you first realize just how "few" 325 pieces actually are, especially when you take away the styrofoam. Then you see that most of the pieces are steel balls...BUT the initial disappointment will quickly be turned to "WHY DID I NOT DISCOVER THESE SOONER!" Especially when you start building and you're project is taken over by little hands. Make no mistake, this line of toys is expensive and will never earn the excited and delighted screams of delight when the paper is ripped open. But SLOW AND STEADY ALWAYS WINS THE RACE, and this line of toys is always reliable and always a winner. I think because playing with them is so darn addicting! This line of toys is great for trips to the toy store to "pick up another pack" or for encouraging "saving for" because you can always add another set starting at around $10.00. Not an out of reach amount for a child if you match their savings dollar for dollar. Additionally, MY BIGGEST PURPOSE FOR THESE.....I absolutely hate watching my kids "watch" TV. It really bothers me to see any child, including my own, just "sitting and staring". This is the perfect solution. All I have to do is come into the TV room with a couple of cookie sheets (metal) and the cans of magnets and we play and build while we watch. This has not failed me in 2 years! This set is a great add on set. It would be a good starter set. You can then add-on with the less pricey sets to enhance your collection. They are the sets that you look at and wonder why you are paying so much for a box of styrofoam. When you are able to get over that intital shock, you will see that these sets are the most worthwhile investments you could make in toys. Resist the temptation to leave these on the shelf in the toy aisle! You will not be sorry when you see the amount of play time that this toy recieves. You will also be thrilled when you see your childrens' imaginations come to life....Yours too!

Its a good toy! I love it but it was very expensive. It says 325 but that number includes the little metal balls. So you dont get many peices. If you take out the styroform its great to store all of your magnetix in the big case. Its so fun, I got it just last night and I have made a castle,a hut and cool shapes. Its alot of fun ad I cant wait to get more sets! :)

GREAT TOY but, be warned when you open the box you'll think to yourself is that all there is? once your child starts to play you'll be happy. personally know 325pc is not enough for my son and me to both play, so i have to wait till after santa comes to be able to play.

Purchased for my 7 year old. Very good value for the money. Has provided numerous hours of active creative fun for her. Is easy to pick up and store when not in use. Is a great source of imaginitive creative fun for any child. It is also mind stimulating and has been one of the only toys that has held her attention and kept her from being "bored" with the toy.

I was so pleased by this bldg. set. It was in a sturdy metal case, lots
of bldg. pcs. The price was excellant....amazing, really. I bought 3 of them for my grandsons aged; 7 through 10 yrs. old. They loved them and spent hours playing with them, and apparently still do.

I purchased this along with 2 other kits that expanded the collection - and was very pleased. My son - a teen - has always enjoyed legos and I predict will one day be an engineer (because of his love for creating and wanting to know how things work) This Christmas, I wanted to try something a little different - and this toy was it! In a way, it isn't really a "toy" as one would expect, but a way to create anything and everything that your mind could imagine! He loves it, as do the rest of us (we all pull it out now and then) This particular kit comes with a case with a tray at the bottom which allows for building the magnet creations (what a plus - can't lose the pieces) There are a variety of shapes and colors - it's a world of creations! I would just be careful around little kids - as some of the pieces are smaller (mouth-worthy!) Enjoy...we are (oh, and Amazon delivered as promised!!!)

Defective toy - dangerous!,

This 325-count set contains "curves". We bought a set of curves two years ago for our 5-year old son (Magnetix Translucent Curves with the word "Magnetix" stamped on each link). We also have other children in the home. At this time three of the little magnets have come out. It seems to happen most when we put the curves end to end and the power of one magnet pulled another magnet out from its pocket in another curved piece. Basically, there is nothing holding the magnets in! There is no "lip" and there is no adhesive on each end of the curved piece. The magnets are shaped like small cylinders. I am not talking about the larger balls which are just metal and are not magnets.
And yes, these magnets have awesome power! I put one of the little guys on my finger and another one attracted right through it - from the other side of my finger. Amazing yet scary. In Washington state recently one toddler died and another pre-schooler almost died - both swallowed multiple magnets from building toys. The key here is "multiple". With more than one magnet, the internal organs got choked off before the mom even realized the child was sick. The toddler's older brother had received a "Magnetix Xtreme Combo" toy two weeks earlier. Here is the link with a video: http://komo1000news.com/stories/42442.htm. Parents, I think we should all beware of any toys with small magnets. If you have a baby or toddler in the home, think about it. Is the added excitement of a "cool toy" worth risking your child's health? From reading the feedback posted out there over the years, it seems like some manufacturers use design and product materials that are poor quality and their magnets fall out a lot.
