Fresh New Sound,

Not the usual sound, not the usual subject matter, The Novella's have a refreshing style all their own. With musical stories ranging from mysterious alien abductions (There Goes Betty Again) and civil war ghosts (Marietta's Comin') to a condemnation of backbreaking labor politics (Caterpillar Man) their entertaining lyrics and upbeat music provide an intriguing look at the world from a distinctly different point of view.

Peter Chance's clever and compelling lyrics are surpassed only by the phenomenal arranging that carries them to the listener. The Novellas are a real treat and not just on Halloween. If you don't have this CD, buy it NOW! And if you're in New York - you must not go home without seeing them LIVE! Gotta see Laura Ogar play the theremin. And lead man Peter Chance - cross between David Byrne and David Bowie - never ceases to amaze. I love this CD and am left wanting more, more, more. You will be too.

Finally, something that does not sound like every other bands on the radio or clubs. Very witty lyrics, great melodies and good design. I think this is a first album, a lot of thoughts were put into it and it shows. Try it, you'll like it!
