I am an actor who has performed on television and film for more than ten years. I costarred on a Nickelodeon series called "Space Cases," and appeared in various movies and sitcoms. As a student of theater (I currently attend UCLA), I can honestly say that this book is a wonderful guide in honing one's monologue performances. It is also a joy to read. The characters are unique and from all walks of life. Some of the pieces are hysterically funny. Others are touching--even gripping. The monologues helped me embody a wide array of personalities, expanding my limits as an actor and experimenting with different character types. The writing is superb: Stevens exhibits a strong command of the colloquialisms and slang young people employ in their day-to-day existence. The stories are not wordy or effusive--the language is powerful, yet simple. One of the monologues landed me a part in a UCLA play this spring (ironically, the professor commented more positively on my selection of the monologue than my reading of it). This book is a valuable tool for any young aspiring actor--from their early teens to their college years.

Chamber's monologues are so realistic and the characters come to life with minimal effort and it has a lot to do with the talented writing he puts forth in this.

My daughter was auditioning for theatre projects in our community, and she needed a great monologue. I searched the internet, and Chambers Stevens' books kept cropping up in the search results. So I ordered "Magnificent Monologues for Teens". It was well worth the very reasonable price. My daughter loved it. The monologues are exceptionally well written, and are appropriate for even a young teen. The biggest problem we had with the book was which monologue to choose. If your teen actor is searching for the perfect monologue, I highly recommend this book.

My son always had a tough time finding the right monologue until Magnificent Monologues for Teens. There are so many good ones - you will definitely find the right one for you. This book has been excellent for sharpening audition skills - I highly recommend it!

These books are so FUN and very helpful when using them to prepare for auditions. I highly recommend them for beginners or pros!!! I used Chamber's monologue when auditioning for an agent and was signed.

I'm a voice teacher who works with many actors. I find that I recommend this book and Chambers Stevens' other books on a daily basis. The monologues are consistently well-written and fresh. This is a wonderful resource for actors and teachers. Highly recommended.

When I looked this book up, I understood from the reviews that it was full of wonderful monologues perfect for teens. I found almost all of them fairly stereotypical and pointless. I would call them "wish monologues". They wish they were monologues. Although it's a great idea, this book was a huge disappointment to me and I would not recommend it to any teen looking for audition material.

This is a great book and has a lot of great monologues. It really does have a monologue for every occasion.

This book is an invaluable resource for the young actor looking for original monologues. There is a monologue for almost any occasion. What a great tool for the young actor.
