Updated 11/2015: Broom is still going strong over a year later. As a lower star review noted (and maybe others) it did shed a lot of broom corn pieces -- I think that has slowed down, finally, and it hasn't noticeably affected the fullness of the broom. I think that it is somewhat common with any traditional style broom. As of writing this update, I see it's only available for over $18. I wouldn't pay that much for it. I paid $6.63, and I feel it was well worth that price. My daughter is 2 1/2, now, and still loves sweeping with it. And sometimes pretending to ride it...

Original review:
I took a chance on this since there were no reviews. I'm glad I did. I ordered the broom for my 18 month old after looking through many toy and small brooms. If I wanted to spend 3 or 4 times the price, I could have purchased a more beautifully made broom, but I wasn't willing to spend that much at this point. I could have purchased a toy broom for a similar price, or a little bit more, but none in the same price range quite met what I was looking for. This broom is a nice length for my young toddler, has a painted handle that shouldn't splinter, and is made of wood (for the handle) and real broom corn. It's workmanship is fine, and definitely good for the price - more than adequate for my purposes. I would recommend it.

The kids actually help sweep the floor! Only problem now is they fight over who gets to use it. The bristles do tend to fall out with roughhousing, but it has held up pretty well the past few months we've had it.

I remember my mother using broom corn brooms and I just bought this out of nostalgia. I was amazed at how well it worked. This little guy collected more dust than all my newer model brooms combined. The small size is ideal for getting under furniture and into nooks and crannies. I dampen the end slightly to prevent the dust bunnies from flying. My cats think it's a toy and play with it when not in use. My mother was right!

This broom was exactly what I was looking for as a toy broom for my 2 year old. It is the perfect height, and she has gotten good at actually sweeping with it (without swinging a too-tall handle haphazardly around a room the way she was with the real broom). I've even used this broom for quick sweeping when it was handy. I think it was a great purchase.

On the plus side - it's just the right size for my little ones and it's actually very sturdy (as brooms go) BUT the red paint on the wooden handle was scraped when I unwrapped the 2 that I ordered. More importantly the end of the handle, at the top, is extremely rough. I'm going to have to take a file and smooth it down because there's many sharp spots that could scratch a kid. Buyer Beware.

I Bought this for my great granddaughter. She likes to sweep her room. There is a problem with the straw falling out. Not a problem for her enjoyment of sweeping. Just that someone has to come along a pick up the straw.
The broom is just the right size for her at almost 3 years old.

Great broom! I got this as a broom for my toddler since she always tries to help, it's much better construction and cheaper than all the "toddler brooms" BUT, you can probably get one for about $4 at a local janitorial supply store.

The broom is fine, but it was shipped to me covered shipping labels stuck on the the painted wooden handle. It was a pain trying to save the paint while scraping off the labels. As you can see in my picture, I gave up.
