I am quite disappointed about this product. Two of the 3 base plates had the rubber pads come off on the first trip to the range. Normally Magpul products are great and seem to last forever. I have been a Magpul customer for a long time and this is the first time I've been let down like this.

I'm very disappointed. I was anxious to get this product and put it into use but now, $15 and one use later....here I sit with 2 of the 3 speedplates that are of absoultely no use.

Got a set of speedplates for my Glock 26. At first I was surprised that they were simply rubber and not a hard plastic. Upon placing them on a standard glock magazine I found it nearly impossible to seat the mag into the gun. I found myself smashing the magazine over and over to finally get the clip in. The squishy rubber plate would just give and flatten out as I tried to push the magazine into the grip. Once seated I hated the feel of the pinky thumb stud on the plate. I had removed an after market Scherer plate with a pinky grip extension that I thought was very comfortable. The pinky stud/finger loop on the magpul plate does not extend around the surface of the grip so it doesn't supply any extra stability. It's just awkard. When I went to remove the MOE plate to replace it with my Scherer, the thumb rest/finger loop peeled right off the plate! I was shocked to see that it wasn't one single molded piece, but two pieces weakly glued together. There wasn't any sign of adhesive on the plate or grip either. What was used to adhere these pieces together? It seemed such a terrible design choice to make a mechanism that is supposed to be for pulling out of tight ammo puches two seperate pieces joined at the very point of greatest stress.

This is not rugged hard use gear. This is an utter failure. I am returning this item. It didnt last a day under the absolute minimum conditions. Shame on magpul. This product is worthless.

Magpul botched this product. Recommend AVOIDING the MAG230. Returning mine.

The MAG230 floorplates are NOT sized to fit all Glock 9mm as described. Specifically, the floorplate saddles are taller than OEM floorplates, just enough that you cannot seat a magazine in a Glock 19 without slamming it so hard the plate pops off! Sort of defeats the basic functionality it's actually supposed to improve upon. Add to this the squishy factor and cheap overall build quality others note... and what you have is a $15 set of completely useless plastic items. YMMV but be forewarned.

I dig the concept of these plates, being able to draw mags faster, while giving my pinky a spot to rest on the Glock 26. And the build quality is nice! However, I ended up trading them to a friend for Pearce grip extensions, which I like much better now. This speedplate pinky finger placement is a bit recessed compared to the rest of the fingers when gripping the gun. I like all my fingers to be in a uniform line on the grip, or go without grip extension and just wrap my pinky under the mag, taking it out of the equation completely. This is kinda halfway between, with the pinky slightly back. It caused my grip to feel awkward.
May not be an issue for you, but I'd recommend comparing these against the Pearce grips for comfort. I understand these fulfill a different function with drawing extra mags quickly, and you may value that function over comfort/grip. Just thought I'd make people aware of what I experienced.
Happy and safe shooting...

I had 3 of these on a chest rig during training and one loop fell off when it was bumped against a shield. The loop is only held on by adhesive and is a separate piece from the floor plate. Very upset with magpul on this one.

The same experience as the other ppl, the pull came off on one, the other 2 still have yet to show weakness, don't really think these are real magpul products or are magpul rejects that are sold to lesser handmedown sellers, never heard of magpul doing this.
Just applied supper glue to the one plate, we'll see if this stands up to some abuse, highly Doubt it, in rough on my equipment and use it all for duty and in the field, will buy from other company and see if these are just cheep chines nock off and up date this review, don't really care if something comes fast if its junk in the first place.

I received these in the mail today and installed on three of my glock 17 mags. All three rubber loops came off of the plastic floor plate piece. They are held on by a small amount of adhesive. I am a huge fan of Magpul but they failed on these. Save your money and go with something else.

First, installing the plate is very difficult. The hole on the bottom of the speedplate is obscured so it's very difficult to line up the pin to the hole. Second, the rubber bumper comes off very easily and does not attach back on making the hole concept useless. I tried using superglue to attach it but had limited success. There's something about the rubber material that does not allow the superglue to work. I purchased a total of six of the plates to install on all my magazines but only had the time and patience for two of them.
