5.0 out of 5 stars This uke
this ukulele is awesome! i own the purple one and i love it. At first it goes out of tune a lot but with time the tuning is just fine and it sounds really good. GREAT buy for a beginner! =]

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute toy
This is a cute toy, but not at all something you would want to buy if you're looking to play actual notes. It is very easily set out of tune. I have to re-tune it every time we get it out.

It isn't cheap looking and it's fun, so I would buy it again just because it's so cute.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good beginner Uke, January 22, 2010

Bought this on a bit of a whim, to see if I'd like playing the ukulele. Never played an instrument before, so sounds quality wasn't really an issue for me. This is great for the price. It's playable and sounds great. The paint is chipping a bit, but only slightly. After a few days it holds its tune well. I would recommend this for anyone who wants something cheap to strum on, or who wants to know if they really want to play the uke. Great fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you're looking for a decent ukele, this one is worth it., January 29, 2011

I is exactly what it's worth. It plays niceley, and creates a good sound. I'd recommend this for a beginner or an intermediate who's looking for a ukulele to start out with, or just to have. It looks nice, and feels good in your hands. The only problem is that it is painted, but in delicate hands it will look new for years. The ukulele is neatly stringed, and built good. It plays pretty well, but not the best. Anyhow this ukulele is worth what it costs... Oh and did I mention it comes with a black bag case which looks pretty nice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little Uke that can live through a cluts like me, February 6, 2011

Got my uke last week. All and all, I am pretty happy with it. I got it so I could learn to play(hopefully that will work out) didn't want to buy an expensive one since I am just trying the hobby out. Its really sturdy! It even lived through me dropping it. Also had it in my bag while leaving a place and got the neck caught on the door. I was worried I damaged it but it was just fine. So it does what it has to and is strong enough that someone like myself won't easily break it. Its also very pretty. I have plans of painting some details on it. So if in the end I don't see myself playing it a lot, it will still look very nice on my wall.

So if you are looking to just try out ukulele, I would go for one of these little guys. Also good for kids. They seem to be able to handle some abuse.

This ukulele is a great place to start learning. Sounds just fine, stays in tune for longer than I expected (been in tune for a few days now without any adjustment), and the price can't be beat. I've had it for about two weeks, and it seems like it'll last me a good long time. Highly recommended.

I am a ukulele beginner, but i have played guitar and percussion for a while so i know a lot about good quality instruments. This is definitely one of them. It sounds and feels great. All the other reviews have mentioned the constant retuning that has to get done is true, I've had it for about 2 days and have had to retune it about 27 times. Awesome Ukulele though!!!!!

Perfect little Uke for a beginner. Shipped fast and looked great on arrival. The gig bag they send with it is nice but a little bit tight when trying to put the instrument in or take it out, but still a nice addition. Needs to be tuned often but that is good practice for getting a feel for the instrument. I recommend everyone buy a Ukulele and learn a few chords, it could make the world a better place!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Quality for the Price, January 8, 2011
This review is from: Mahalo U-30BK Painted Economy Soprano Ukulele, Black (Electronics)
I would have expected it to feel cheaper for the price I paid but its decent. Since I'm not looking to be a serious player and spend $60+ on the instrument, its fine for playing around. Mine is purely for the entertainment of learning another instrument. The strings had a really hard time staying in tune at first and I almost replaced them, but then I found out that's how all new strings behave. Brand new ukulele strings have a very hard time staying in tune for the first week before they stay put. I kept having to retune it every 10 minutes. It's getting better though. Overall, its a fun instrument and it sounds a lot better than I expected. Good deal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, but a good product, July 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mahalo U-30BK Painted Economy Soprano Ukulele, Black (Electronics)
This ukulele is perfect for a beginner. For the price, it's great. It's small, light, and produces a relatively nice sound, at least for when you're first learning how to play. The other reviews are correct in that you'll need to tune it often at first, but that wasn't really a nuisance for me.
