I bought this ukulele in a store without reading any reviews, and I was surprised to see the negative reviews for it here on Amazon. It may be a little overpriced, but mine has been pretty good about staying in tune. The other reviewers may just need to tighten the pegs.

The unfinished wood body makes it easier to keep a hold on it, which is nice. It's a delicate instrument but seems like good quality, and the sound is great. I compared it with a couple soprano ukes in the store and there was no comparison. It has a much thicker, richer sound than the little ukes. It feels and plays like a real instrument and not a toy. My only big complaint is with the gig bag. It only opens at the bottom, which makes it difficult to get the uke in, and could potentially knock it out of tune while sliding it in. It's better to invest in a hard case for the long run, but this one will do in a pinch.

All in all, I'm happy with my uke.

Great for a beginner like me. Plays easily, nice sound, now if I could only get my fingers to land in the right place, everything would be just fine.

Bought this while I was in Iraq and in my free time was able to teach myself how to play. Led to some pretty awesome times sitting around the fire place at night. But its a good Uke and recommended as a cheap starter to anybody whose never played before.

This is a great price with Gig Bag for this Ukulele. I had to have it restrung as it would not tune. Other than that it is a great product.

The travel bag is not so nice, but I really like this uke. The tenor was the right size for me, and for a novice uke player, this Mahalo was a good value for the money.

With no experience with ukes I chose an inexpensive model and so far its been sufficient. One problem when I tried to tune it the bridge blew out on the G string. I managed to fix that and tuned it at an octave lower to avoid the stress on the bridge. Its serving its purpose.

Instrument's intonation is terrible. For some strings, every fret is very sharp. You get what you paid for.

You get what you pay for. It is laminated wood not solid wood. The strings are da cheap kine so i replaced em with mo betta quality from guitar center. So, dat fix da bad string. Da 1st string is very hard to press, So, i cut a very very small notch on the upper bridge of the 1st string so dat the string would sit a micro-inch lower. So, now da first string is not too hard to press anymore. Now , all problem fix, I play plenny times. It now sounds very load but a little hauna. It has a different sound but i like it because it is very loud. I also have a kohala ukulele but I tend to pick this one up more often. Good for playing plenny hawaiian music. Malama pono
