0872203301 978-0872203303 September 1, 1996
Based on the complete edition of his works, this new volume presents Gandhi's most important political writings arranged around the two central themes of his political teachings: satyagraha (the power of non-violence) and swaraji (freedom). Dennis Dalton's general introduction and headnotes highlight the life of Gandhi, set the readings in hisorical context, and provide insight into the conceptual framework of Gandhi's political theory.

This review is from: Mahatma Gandhi: Selected Political Writings (Paperback)
Dennis Dalton, editor, is a Gandhi scholar and professor of political science. This collection of Gandhi's political writing is the best introduction to Gandhi's thinking that I have found. Professor Dalton's Introduction and the structuring of the writings quickly give the reader a framework in which Gandhi's life and work can be clearly comprehended.
