5.0 out of 5 stars 1000 STARS!!!, April 18, 2005
This review is from: Mahler: Symphony No. 2 (Audio CD)
This live performance from 1963 kills all other renditions of this work!

(Only Kaplan's versions can hold up flames to Stokowski's warhorse interpretation.)

It is in mono, but the acoustics in the Royal Albert Hall (London), give such incredible depth and resonance that it actually sounds like stereo! This recording was also given the Rossette in the 2005 Penguin Guide.

I can't even begin to describe the performance. I just can't. I'm at a loss of words.

You just have to hear it for yourself!
