5.0 out of 5 stars Bittersweet and joyful end to the series, January 12, 2006

This review is from: Mahoromatic: Automatic Maiden, Volume 8 (v. 8) (Paperback)
Mahoromatic Vol. 8 ties up the war between the Keepers, Vesper, and Saint. It also shows Mahoro and Suguru express the love between them, and ultimately face the inevitable.

In some ways this series has been a study on humanity, its desires, weeknesses, flaws, and strengths. What will man do when pending doom is upon them? What happens to those who continue to pursue aggression over peace?

For fans of the anime, the manga follows a different path to the same style of ending. But with quite a bit more exposition, this ending is fulfilling and much more rewarding. So much more is explained, and Suguru is much more tolerable, and untimately...human.
