The Sighing Waters of Kahualoa,
By
This review is from: E O Mai (Audio CD)
I have bought all 4 of his CD's and seen his last four tours. He is the only solo artist to sell out all shows in Maui every year. He is a perfectionist who as a hula Kumu, teacher, establishes great flow to his beautiful music. His voice is an smooth as silk. I think this is his best CD and one of the most emotional. It is very serene and relaxing collection of chants and melodies with the best being "E O Mai", "Pua Hinano" and "Ka 'Ano'i Pua O Uka".

Want to hear something different? something beautiful?,
By Karen (Palm Desert, CA United States) - See all my reviews

I'm sitting here listening to this CD, crying as I type this: that's how beautiful this music is. Right now track #2 is playing, E O Mai - the title track. I have had this CD for 3 or 4 years now, and let me assure you - you won't get tired of it. It's beautiful, and Keali'i's voice is smoother than glass. You'll love it.

Borders on Spiritual,
By A Customer
This review is from: E O Mai (Audio CD)
This 3rd CD from Keali'i (NOT KELLY) contains two of the most beutiful love songs, E O MAI and Ka 'Ano'i Pua I have ever heard in any language. He truly has the voice of an angel and when I listen to him, it borders on a spiritual experience. The only criticism I can find are with two of his english songs, My Love is a Natural Thing and If I Had Words. They are way too sugary and the the CD would have been much better without them. (I am going to see him in August & I hope he leaves those two songs out of the set.) At any rate, treat yourself to this and his previous CDs because you can always skip the songs you don't like because the ones you do will make it worth every penny.

E O Mai is very Hawaiian,
This review is from: E O Mai (Audio CD)
While on the Pride of Aloha in Hawaii, I enjoyed the music of Keali'i Reichel being played on board the ship.
Very mellow and peaceful and some favorite American songs added. Keali'i Reichel will sing in English with some songs and in Hawaiian in others. It has a nice mix to it all. I have all his CD's so that I can continue to listen to Reichel over and over. I highly recommend any of Reali'i Reichel's work.

Traditional and Contemporary, An album for Everyone!,
By laakapu@aol.com (Honolulu, HI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: E O Mai (Audio CD)
Of the four albums Keali'i Reichel has put out, this is by far the greatest of them all. A mix of traditional Hawaiian chants and contemporary melodies put together as only Keali'i can present them, which draws you into the beauty of 'olelo Hawai'i (Hawaiian language). His roudy and exuberant duet with Kekuhi Kanahele in "Nematoda" is an absolute dream for those fans of their energetic singing styles. A true winner to add to your collection!

E O Mai was AWESOME!!!!,

Keali'i did an awesome job on this CD I wouldn't have it any other way. I have all of his CD's and he is one of the best. I've choreographed dances from at least 2 songs on each CD. "My Love is a Natural Thing" and "If I Had Words" fit beautifully into the collestion of songs he has gathered for this CD. They touch the younger generation and that's what it's all about. As long as our children grow up learning their heritage and loving the music. Because they are the future!! Mahalo!!

An excelent release, as usual.,

This is Keali'i's third album, released in 1997. The title track is one of the most perfect songs to listen to when you need to go to sleep at night. I could listen to Keali'i sing all night and I wouldn't get tired of it. If you like Iz, you'll love Keali'i Reichel. One of my other favorites on this CD is "Nematoda" with Kekuhi Kanahele. As always, many Hawaiian songs and chants are included as well as some English. Get this one, and get all of his other ones! You will not be disappointed in the least!

Another winnr from this Hawai'ian artist!,
By A Customer
This review is from: E O Mai (Audio CD)
Keali'i has done it again...E O Mai is his third offering, and he keeps getting better! This CD is diverse in content, giving the listener an idea of the range Keali'i has. One of my favorites is Ka 'Ano'i Pua--a great love song! The title track speaks of longing and love...But more importantly is how Keali'i conveys the music--he has a compelling voice, whether singing in English or Hawai'ian...the chants are pure pleasure

Bought this CD while in Hawaii last month and found that it allows us to continue to relive the memories everytime we listen to it. Nice that the Hawaiian words stayed and not overun by mainland pressure!
