Immediately the cover suggests there is cross dressing within this manga, but no yaoi fan should really be surprised by this. :) Hisami Shimada brings a humorous story of Midori who becomes a house maid for a rich business man Asagi. He does this because his grandmother has thrown out her back and she has to remain the hospital for a while.
Midori has to be my favorite character, for one, he s determined to help his grandmother and make tea as good as she does. He even takes time off from school to do this. Another admirable quality is he spends time with Asagi s younger brother Moegi because he s too busy to spend time with him. At some point in the story Asagi starts to develop feelings for Midori, and when they want to have sex there are interruptions which make the story much more humorous. I really like the cross dressing element within this story. There s some cosplay in it as well. The artwork was good, but it wasn t the best I ve seen. But I can overlook this, because I really enjoyed the story. On a scale, I d give Maid In Heaven an eight. --The Yaoi Review
Maid in Heaven by Hisami Shimada is a comic romp about two people trying to satisfy their 'eh' attraction for each other but unfortunately, they always get interrupted.
Midori meets Asagi when Midori has to take his ailing grandmother's place, a competent maid to the young, handsome master. Midori doesn't start off on the right foot with Asagi. Not at all! It seems Asagi always finds way to make Midori feel incompetent! But the situation starts to warm up as Midori is determined to be the 'best' maid Asagi ever had. This involves some very sexy, comic moments.
The artwork is expressive, especially Midori. Every emotion shows on his face. The story is cute, light, fun and doesn't take itself seriously. If you like stories that will make you smile - you'll enjoy Maid in Heaven. --Yaoi Rose --Julie - Manga Maniac Café
