I've read several other reviews, and I can see where they are coming from -
If you are looking for a really cute, cheesy, romantic read, this could definitely be the book for you.
If you are looking for a little more depth and character development, this is probably not it.
I enjoyed a lot of scenes (not just the sex, which I've already forgotten, honestly) but not the whole story.
Maddie is okay, a little weak and annoying, but okay. Her sister is never developed past over-protective and annoying.
Mac, though, was a big disappointment. Throughout the book he makes decisions that concern Maddie FOR her, without consulting her, because obviously he knows what's best for her. When she refuses his advances, he talks with his father about how he's not going to take No for an answer...And gets encouragement about making her see that they are right for each other. Uhhh...slightly creepy. Granted, this is a romance novel, but I would have much preferred it if he were willing to accept her words and back off until she came to him. I like my characters to be someone I'd like to meet, and if I met someone like Mac I'd be pissed at him. You don't just take a woman's baby for a walk without leaving a note, make her a public spectacle, or lie to her face about life decisions you've made for her. It's not romantic, it's controlling. And he's like that for most of the book.
Maddie irked the crap out of me when she confronted him about his behavior and finally stood up for herself by saying she couldn't be in a relationship like that, then she just GIVES IN when he tells her, "That's who I am!"
