5.0 out of 5 stars From riches to rags - sort of, August 21, 2007
By
Maida Westabrook is the sweet and unspoiled daughter of one of the richest men in America but she is pale and listless as a result of being lame. To coax her to health, her father buys her a small shop in Charlestown, Massachusetts (home of the Battle of Bunker Hill in the War of American Independence). His only requirement is that she tend shop incognito, not telling anyone of her background. As a result, Maida makes friends for the first time in her life who see her as an ordinary girl. This story describes her adventures tending shop.

Tthis is not a mediocre review of the novel.... just of the book's layout. Buy another edition.
