4.0 out of 5 stars Maiden's last hurrah with the "Classic" line up
This video was recorded in 1988 on Maiden's "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" tour, the last tour with the main line up of Dickenson, Harris, Murray, Smith, and McBrain. Unlike Maiden's earlier video "Live After Death" which was filmed in LA, this video captures Maiden in their own backyard in Birmingham England. From the opening chords of...

2.0 out of 5 stars Maiden Going Through The Motions
Don't get me wrong, I love Iron Maiden. They put out some of the best metal albums of the 1980's. From the early-to-mid 1980's, they were a fierce live band. Maiden's problems with their stage performances began with their 1984-85 POWERSLAVE tour. Starting with that tour, they put on elaborate stage shows with props, enormous lighting rigs, and pyrotechnics. This may...

4.0 out of 5 stars Maiden's last hurrah with the "Classic" line up, December 13, 1998

This review is from: Maiden England [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video was recorded in 1988 on Maiden's "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" tour, the last tour with the main line up of Dickenson, Harris, Murray, Smith, and McBrain. Unlike Maiden's earlier video "Live After Death" which was filmed in LA, this video captures Maiden in their own backyard in Birmingham England. From the opening chords of "Moonchild" to the last notes of "Iron Maiden" this video is 95 minutes of nonstop headbanging music.Another constant in Maiden shows is the special effects-which make this video even more spectacular. If you are a Maiden fan this video is a must for your library. I saw them on this tour in '88 and it was the best show that I saw all year. After this tour Adrian Smith left the band to persue a solo career, soon there after Bruce Dickenson also left. Iron Maiden dominated Heavy Metal in the 80's and this video is a fitting tribute to that legacy. Even if you are not a Maiden fan, if you want to see where bands like Metallica and Marylin Manson got "it" from go no further and get this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!!!, December 7, 2001

This review is from: Maiden England [VHS] (VHS Tape)
AN epic metal masterpiece, last classic 80's concert video, maiden at some of their best, with outstanding effects with eddie, the lay out of the keyboards and everything, and so as the band is in top form as well, this is a metal classic and anyone who luvs real music must own this.
P.S. Gers is an awesome guitarist, maiden will never get the glory they got originally in the 80's because their not sell outs.

5.0 out of 5 stars SCREAM FOR ME IRON MAIDEN, September 30, 1999
This review is from: Maiden England [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is truly an excellent concert to have & behold till death do you part. I have watched this concert along with other videos of Maiden at least 3 times a week. Long may Maiden's voyage capture the hearts of many million's of fans around the world. My favorite member of Maiden is Adrian Smith. I love everything about Adrian from A-Z. He is such a sweetheart. He's friendly, has a warm, giving smile & there is no guitar player with his style that could ever surpass his superb playing. I love him dearly. Always have & always will.

5.0 out of 5 stars Double Pack-CD & Video, May 27, 2002
By
This review is from: Maiden England [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video was filmed on November 27th and 28th 1988 at the two sold-out concerts of Iron Maiden at Birmingham's N.E.C.,England.The concerts were part of the extensive worldwide tour,'Seventh Tour Of A Seventh Tour',which also included Maiden's headliling at the 'Monsters Of Rock' festival in Donington park,England. The video was Dirested and Edited by Maiden's bassist Steve Harris and came out in 1989,but also in 1994 in Double Pack-CD & Video. The whole tour had great succses with their second UK number one album,'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son'.The set-list included some classics that Maiden hadn't play live the recent tours, like Still Life,THE PRISONER and, oh yes, KILLERS with Bruce's magnificent vocals. This was the last perfect Maiden gig in the 80s.Many people think that Bruce hadn't sang that well on a Maiden gig since 'Maiden England',but the new live album 'Rock In Rio' is just a proof that Bruce can sing better than on 'Maiden England' and even 'Live After Death'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maiden's greatest stage performance is in this video!!!, June 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Maiden England [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I've been a Maiden fan for almost 18 years now, and Ive seen this band 12 times with numerous line-ups. This video captures EDDY and the boyz on their home turf at the absolute height of their career. Stop and think what metal concerts were like in the 80's, and multipy this video 10X's. The theatrics are the best. Too much energy for one video!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Iceberg!!!!, December 8, 2008
This review is from: Maiden England [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is gonna be a short and sweet review, so...

Maiden England is Iron Maiden's England gig duirng "Seventh Son of a Seventh Tour" in 1989. I downloaded Maiden England via Ares.

ME is one of their best, IMO. It starts with Moonchild, and ends with Iron Maiden. I'm even surprised they performed "Killers"! The stage theme is an Iceberg. You gotta love the slideshow at the beginning, and Bruce's "Teddy Bear" thing on stage before "Infinite Dreams"!

This is a must-have for any maiden fan. Up the irons!

This video was filmed at the two sold-out concerts of Iron Maiden at Birmingham's N.E.C.,on November 27th and 28th.The concerts were part of the extensive worldwide tour,'Seventh Tour Of A Seventh Tour'.The tour also incuded Maiden's headlining at the 'Monsters Of Rock' festival in Donington park,England to 100007 fans. The video was Directed and Edited by Maiden's bassist Steve Harris. It was realised in 1989,but it comes in a special Double Pack-CD & Video in 1994.The concert shows Maiden at their bombastic best with their second UK number one album,'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son'.The video is the second best with 'Live After Death',back in 1985.Many people think Bruce Dickinson hasn't sang that well on a Maiden gig after 'Maiden England',but the new 'Rock In Rio' live album realy is good as both 'Maiden England' and 'Live After Death' with Bruce and Adrian back again in the star team of six.
