Cada día me gusta más este disco,

I saw Leny at de LaPataia Jazz Tour 2005 in Punta del Este. She is simply great. On the stage she is so warm! It's not only her music, she delivers stories and feelings between songs, in a way I can hardly describe. This CD is a bit different. More "classic" perhaps. After I bought the CD I was at first dissapointed, I was looking for something more like the show I had seen. (In fact I had bought another CD more like what I was looking for) However, I must admit I like this one much more every time I listen to it.

Leny Andrade gets mixed reviews. She is having more trouble with her vibrato than usual (it has been erratic since the 1970s) and some of her note tail-offs are ghostly. As always, she is convincing and her pitch, time and scat singing are excellent. The Fred Hersch Trio is a delight throughout. The title cut didn't work too well for me but I enjoyed the other tracks, particularly Leny's joyous "Weekend".
