5.0 out of 5 stars Ancient Mesopotamia comes to life, July 7, 2006
This review is from: The Maiden's Song (Paperback)
I just finished reading this novel, which was loaned to me by a friend who knows I am interested in the Middle East and its ancient history.
I found The Maiden's Song a fast-paced novel packed with drama, excitement, and tidbits that make me reflect on the military tragedies going on today, in that part of the world.
I wonder if Sargon was truly soooo different than Saddam...
Recommended reading as an open window into the past.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, exciting novel about a little-known era, July 7, 2006
By
Dolce Diva (Daytona Beach, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Maiden's Song (Paperback)
This novel was a pleasant surprise, so very well written (naturally, well researched, as well), and depicting an era almost never touched on by contemporary authors.
I look forward to reading more of Ms. Tash's works.
Highly recommended for those who like to tour the mists of time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Debra Tash is clearly a gifted writer, May 16, 2002
This review is from: The Maiden's Song (Paperback)
Set in ancient Mesopotamia, Debra Tash's historical novel, The Maiden's Song is the compelling story of one man who holds within him the potential for creating the first empire, and the haunting melody sung by the beautiful woman he saved from death. A saga of love, adventure, and the dawn of civilization, The Maiden's Song is an engaging read filled with a strong sense of place and destiny. Debra Tash is clearly a gifted writer and one to keep track of!
