Disappointed,

I was really annoyed by the opening of this book. Why do we need sexual detail like that. For a cozy, I was really put off by that. And using the "f" word was certainly not needed. It spoiled the whole book for me. Leave sex in the harder mysteries and keep cozy's just that.

Old Maid's Puzzle: A Quilting Mystery I enjoyed this very much and am becoming a fan of Terri's. Love the character development and think all cozy readers will like this one. I am a quilter but anyone will love this as it crosses the boundries of hobbies.

This was such a fun book to read. It kept me in suspense and wanting it to go on and on. I love this book and the writing. I would love to read more of her books.

By the time I read the first full page I was done with the book. It was a sex scene. I was glad that I didn't get into the story before I found out what this book was really about and it wasn't quilting. I was also glad I had borrowed it from the library to see if I liked this author. Don't waste your money. If I could have, I would have given it "No Stars."

I just recently discovered Terri Thayer; this is the second book I've read. Her style is very light and moves along quickly. I must admit that I got rather frustrated with the way she dealt with her sister-in-law, so when that issue was finally resolved, I wanted to say, 'hallelujah'! I am a quilter, but it's not necessary to be one to enjoy the book. If you like this sort of thing, check out Maggie Sefton. She's a knitter who writes mysteries.

While I personally never imagined I would read a book that fell under the theme of a "Quilting Mystery", Old Maid's Puzzle is exactly what the casual weekend reader ordered. This amusing mystery is set in Dewey Pellicano's inherited quilt shop and the readers instantly share her pain and frustration as she deals with the day-to-day struggle to keep her business a float and the non-stop drama of her family, friends and significant other. When a body shows up, Dewey works against the clock to discover the truth behind his death without losing more business. Incredibly entertaining!

Enjoyed this second book in Thayer's trilogy so much that I bought the other 2 titles and am disappointed there aren't more available. Told my quilt shop owner that she should stock these books as it gives the rest of us insight into her issues of owning a shop. This is a great, light-hearted mystery with fun characters. I'd recommend it to all quilters and mystery genre fans.

Ms. Thayer really does a nice job of character development, creating lots of dynamics. Being from the area that is the setting of the book makes me feel right at home. The author does a wonderful job of describing the area! She is also good at dropping enough hints and clues to keep the reader guessing. These quilting mysteries are made for someone who loves mysteries AND quilting!
