This product is very well made, but has a serious design flaw that is deceptively not detected when you look at their videos.

Mail that is delivered gets caught in the security baffle and jams up inside the receiving chamber defeating the safe delivery of one's mail.

I have spoken at length with the manufacturer, but there is no solution to this problem. If they say there is, they are lying.

Do not buy this product.

Unit came with good fit and finish. This is a very sturdy mailbox; this mailbox would be difficult to break into. Two issues found with this mailbox. When I first started to use this mailbox my mail would be soaking wet whenever we had wet weather. I eventually solved this by tilting the box so that water on the flat top would run back away from the road. The second issue is the difficulty in getting delivered mail inside this mailbox. One mail person sticks the delivered mail in the outgoing mail slot. Mail that is place properly in he trap door section will tend to hang up in the trapdoor. Most days we end up opening the top door so that we can get the pinched mail loose from the trap door. In retrospect the wireless mail delivery alarm improved my mail security more and cost a lot less then the Package Master, the wireless mail delivery alarm that lets me know as soon as the mail is delivered. Although this is a secure mailbox it can be easily removed by cutting the 4 x 4 post below the box.

We had a recent rash of mail theft in our neighborhood so I decided it was time to upgrade to a locking mailbox. To my surprise, I discovered there are a lot of shabby locking mailboxes out there. My research brought me to the conclusion that there are only a few that have any meaningful security. Most seemed to be flimsy, have cheesy locks on them and appear to offer nothing more than a placebo effect. I decided I wanted a mailbox that could hold my mail went I went away and also take small packages. This brought me to the Mailboss Package Master. The price seemed right. When I received it, it only took 2 days, I was able to install it in about 5 minutes. Super easy. The thing weighs a ton, and has a hardcore lock setup on it. I have had no problems receiving mail and small parcels. I would recommend this to anyone who wanst maximum value for their hard earned dollar.

We have mixed thoughts on the MailBoss. The MailBoss looks great in its stone column. The MailBoss appears to be studily built and will provide protection of the mail provided that the Postal Worker actually puts the mail in the box correctly. Not what I was expecting from a U.S. Post Master Approved mailbox.

It never occurred to us that the Postal Worker either would not or could not actually use the box correctly. The problem we have EVERY day is one or more of the following.

1. Postal Worker does not open the door completely and the mail jams on part of the door mechanism.
2. Postal Worker tries to cram in a wad of folded up mail that jams in the door.
3. Mail is bent.
4. Mail is torn.
5. Door is left open from the jams leaving the mail hanging out of the box. Not only can the mail be tampered with, it also gets wet.

Our problem seems to be a problem with the Postal Worker who either is not smart enough to use the box correctly or just does not give a rip and doesn't want to take a couple of extra seconds to insert the mail correctly.

My wife and I can insert the mail without problem, however if we try to cram in a folded up wad it will jam, bend and rip the mail.

Great looking mailbox, it just is not functioning well.

I would not spend hundreds of dollars to install a nice stone secure mail box without first discussing with the Postal Worker to ensure that they would agree to using it correctly.

The Package Master is definitely heavy and sturdy, although the locking mechanism sticks occasionally. The design of the unit needs improvement. Even when the postal carrier does happen to insert the mail correctly, it tends to hang up on the bottom of the box and does not slide all the way down. I used double-sided tape to put a slick piece of cardboard on the bottom of the box to make the mail slide a little easier. The biggest problem is, as another reviewer indicated, the mail carriers jam all the mail into the slot at once and the mail gets stuck in the slot or halfway in the slot and and I wind up tearing mail trying to retrieve it. I've also had them leave the mail sticking out the door so there is no security to having the box. I bought this box and installed it at a second home and wanted the security of knowing my mail was contained. Unless the design of this box is improved, I couldn't recommend it. It's very expensive and I'm to the point of replacing it with the large old-fashioned rural mailbox. It certainly wouldn't be any less secure that what I'm dealing with now. I've had the box up for about 6 mos. and I'm really disappointed in it.

When we bought our home, there was no mailbox. I researched several, and decided to go with this one. It gives us the flexibility to be away for several days without worrying about the mailbox getting too full, and it is secure enough, that we do not have to be concerned about anyone getting our mail. It was easy to mount on the Mail Boss post. It is a lot of money for a mail box, but I figured we will benefit from this superior system for many years to come, so it is a good buy for the long term.
