I heard Orson being interviewed on the Dennis Miller radio show and after hearing about his book, I just had to read it. I was blessed that I did. Orson's writing style is wonderfully fresh. I laughed out loud and cried moments later. I felt like I had a lot in common with the way Orson came about his belief's in God and Jesus.

4.0 out of 5 stars Too Hip for Faith?, October 29, 2008

If you know someone who's on the fence about faith but mostly think he's just too hip to believe, this is the book! Orson Bean is refreshingly candid, honest, and persuasive! Read at your own risk!

4.0 out of 5 stars Food for the Soul, January 11, 2009
This review is from: Mail for Mikey (Hardcover)
Based on someone's recommendation, I read this book. It was very interesting and uplifting. I think there are many people today who are struggling to find more meaning in their lives and this story provides some strong suggestion for where to look.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the price of admission, January 13, 2009
This review is from: Mail for Mikey (Hardcover)
I am an alcoholic with forty some years of sobriety. I am retired with over 20 years background in addiction counseling and treatment administration. This is simply one of the best of several dozen of this type of book that I have read. Anyone interested in this subject would be well rewarded by purchaing this book. It is a ten out of ten.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works!, March 26, 2009
This review is from: Mail for Mikey (Hardcover)
I've had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Bean on the Dennis Miller radio show. He says that this book won't be sold in Christian stores because it's a little raunchy. I read the part where he drops the F-bomb and I must say that it totally works in the context of the joke. No other word would have had the same impact.

The story is very sweet. It's told with a great voice. And so what if it's not sold in Christian stores? He'd be preaching to the choir anyways.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the non-Ned Flanders types, February 16, 2009

While the book contains words and phrases that make me laugh (as long as noone is looking), it details a journey of discovery that reflects so many people as they look for meaning. If you have a friend or if you are on the journey to discover who God and his son are and how they fit in your life, try this book. It won't answer all your questions but you will see that "normal" people can love God as well.
