This review is from: Mail Order Associates' Programmed Course in Mail Order (Ring-bound)
I still remember, as a high school student, eagerly ordering my course on how to make profits in the Mail Order business and the Mail Order Associates drop ship catalog program. I paid more than $100 for it at that time. The course, typewritten on plain paper, was useful to a certain extent, although I later found better books on the mail order business in my public library. Mail Order Associates proclaimed that profits could easily by made by placing "free ads" (PR announcements which magazines sometimes run for new products) in magazines for items in its catalog. They would personalize the catalogs with your business name and address, and drop ship the items to your customers. An interesting concept, and much easier to do in theory than in practice.

The internet and websites have pretty much wiped out any chance of making money from a "mail order" only business. This course might be interesting form someone researching "get rich" and mail order schemes of the era, although it is hardly worth the $39 price. Still, for myself, and no doubt others, seeing this course offered on Amazon no doubt brings back memories. In my case, the most important lesson learned was that there is no easy way to get rich and to beware of anyone offering to help you do so for a fee.
