Tramar Dillar AKA Flo Rida is not too surprisingly a native of Florida (atleast it's a playful name!). Flo Rida made a few mixtapes and eventually appeared on Dj Khaled's last album til he was eventually rewarded a solo album. I doubt no one escaped his major hit single, "Low" from Dj Montay with T-Pain. It peaked at #1 on the billboard charts and stayed there for 11 weaks, a record this year. The song itself is the lazy and repetitive party song simular to T-Pain's "Buy U a Drank" and Soulja Boy's "Crunk That", good to dance to when you go clubbin but nothing you want to hear in your life again 2 months after, Thanks to of Lil Jon's inventions of Crunk it set a new standard to how low music could get and still get airplay. However, What differs between Flo Rida and those other two is that they gave more of the same on their albums. Songs that were produced by the same people (themselves) while Flo Rida is lucky to get backed up by some of the best producers in the game like Timbaland, JR Rotem and Will.i.am and some high profile guests aswell like Fergie, Sean Kingston and Trey Songz, so atleast some of the songs here stand out while there's plenty of crunk sounding songs aswell. The best thing with this album however, is Flo Rida's versability cause he tackles more diffrent issues then what you normally find on rap albums, not just standard club songs like "Low". So, can we write him off as another one hit wonder or does he got more to give?.

It all starts with a song called "American Superstar", and what Hip Hop album could be complete without a Lil Wayne cameo?. "Act Like You Know" sounds more of a pop song and while it isn't bad it could have been more interesting. Second single is "Elevator" which right now is a top 20 hit feature Timbaland (also the producer) the song sounds like an outtake from his last album "Shock Value" and is better for it's hook and sound then for the Flo Rida verse. "Roll" from JR Rotem with Sean Kingston is a silly shake that thang song with Lil Jon sounding beats. "Priceless" with Birdman is a lackluster that could be skipped. JR Rotem comes back on "Ms Hangover" which will be the third single and it's actually the best song on this album and should be a hit. A standard midtempo that could have been made by Sean Kingston works just fine even if it used plenty of methaphors. Kane Beatz that produced songs for Chamilionaire's last album shows up for the next song "Still Missin", Flo both raps and sings here with his husky voice. It's a slow tempo and not too bad. Will.i.am proves he's just as repetitive and Swizz Beatz when he uses the same beats and concept all over again on "In The Ayer", Fergie also appears in this annoying club song. "Me & You" seem to be a lovesong, and some guy sings with a Zappesque vocoder. Not bad. Producer Fatboi make the next song "All My Life". It reminds me of Chamillionaire for some reason with Flo both rapping and singing and a laidback beat. "Don't Know How to Act", with Young Joc. Is this the answer to "Act Like You Know"? or is not knowing how to act the only thing they kmow?. With a repetitive crunk beat it ain't too hot anyway. "Freaky Deaky" is even worse and R. Kelly groupie Trey Songz doesn't make it better either. "Money Right" is more of the same, and it couldn't be more suitable with Rick Ross making a cameo. With it's 14 songs it closes the album.

Overall, Nope Flo Rida won't be a one hit wonder. "Elevator" and "Ms Hangover" are both better then "Low" and should both be hits. This album actually got it's moments but half of the album is really bad aswell. Another gift or problem if you wish, is that some songs are better cause their beat or hook then for Flo Rida's presence amd beacuse of his versability you don't get a good grip on how good/bad he actually is. But you should see the album as a feel good project and if you like simular stuff you could give it a try. But it ain't anything too visionary and he should be thankful that he's always in good company. 2'5 stars.

Flo-Rida took the world by storm with his TPain assisted single LOW which produced a many ringtone and single downloads. While that song is undoubtedly on everyone's nerves it was still a pretty good song until it got absolutely played out. I like many others cannot stand that song anymore. It's completely played out. Sorta like those Nelly songs some years back....Speaking of Nelly, LOW sounds like a song he should have done because it seems like Flo-Rida has gotten some of his thunder. None of Nelly's five singles have seemed to pop off ever since LOW came out despite them having similar styles, looks, and voice and Nelly's obvious star power. The chorus even has "apple bottom jeans" and Nelly attempted to be on the remix which wasn't as engaging as the original song.

Okay anyway back to the album. Mail On Sunday is a decent release and Flo-Rida is a decent rapper. He's not horrible on the mic but he's not good either and doesn't say anything to make me think he's amazing. He's not very memorable how about that? I guess you could say it lacks personality. His flow is pretty good and production above average. He has some songs that are riding such as American Superstar, Elevator, Roll, Ms Hangover, Still Missin, Don't Know How To Act, Freaky Deaky.

Mail on Sunday is underwhelming. Flo-Rida technically can rap but he isn't as engaging as some of the other new rappers coming out. He doesn't make you want to listen to him. Overall it's a decent release but I doubt his popularity will increase in the future.

Before buying this CD I was only familiar with "Low" and "Elevator" from it. I have to say I am very pleased with how the complete CD lived up to my expectations for more of that same great sound I was hoping to hear from this great artist. I cannot get enough of Flo_Rida!
