Brilliant Power Pop, August 13, 2008

Chicago rockers The Bon Mots have made a fantastic record that recalls some of the finest jangly guitar pop of yesteryear that has ever caressed the ears of pop music lovers, from the insistent power chords of Cheap Trick to the sinewy melodies of New Zealand's Flying Nun Records stable, to the shimmering psychedelia of some of LA's finest Paisley Underground outfits. Which is not to say that these guys don't have something new to add to the mix, as the overall sound is fresh, along with witty wordplay and a simple and clean production that keeps the focus on the songs. Outtasite!
