Sartre's existentialism in the original French--in a reader-friendly nutshell,
By Ulfilas (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Les Mains Sales (Collection Folio) (French Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
A communist party member in an exotic Balkan locale kills one of his comrades. Is it because that comrade is fooling around with the protagonist's girl, or because he objects to some shade of his comrade's political views? It is left to the murderer/assassin to decide--and with his decision comes the all-important impact on the "essence" of his victim as a sort of existential epitaph.
This is a good and not overly difficult read for the American student who has aced three or more years of high school French.
