About the Author

Working in engineering and being a member of the Royal Engineers the author has spent approximately seven years researching the 307th Airborne Engineer Battalion in his spare time. His research has taken him from the battlefields of Normandy, Holland and Belgium to the battalion's temporary home in the British midlands as well as the battalion's current home at Fort Brage in America and even the veterans' homes. The author's interest in the American Airborne has even led to his participation in commerative parachute jumps from a C-47 in France and Holland in WWII uniform and equipment at Combat Altitudes.
