Different than their previous albums, but...,

...it still has the Andrew Jackson Jihad feel. The music is slightly more complex, but it holds true to the folk-punk sound they master in.

This is different than "People Who Can Eat People...". The Lyrics and general mood of the album seems much darker, theres a lot more instruments (ranging from the violen, sax, piana, kazoo) and actually has some full band electric songs similiar to the split they did with Partners In 818. It's really hard to compare this with their last record but i would say its just as good in a different way.

I got into Andrew Jackson Jihad because of their sound. They have a punk sensibility with a folk rock edge. Their music reminds me of early Against Me! with funnier lyrics (since Against Me! is more serious and political). I have all of AJJ's albums and this album is my favorite. It stikes a nice balance of angsty punk rock and slower story style elements of folk music. Saw them live when they were on tour with Frank Turner. For a while I thought I was the only one singing along with Andrew Jackson Jihad's smart lyrics, to my surprise I turned around to notice a whole choir of fans chanting along with me. If your new to A.J.J this is a must have. This album perfectly shows Andrew Jackson Jihad's song writing abilities.

Good Album,

I love Andrew Jackson Jihad, and at first I had mixed feelings on this CD, since it sounded a bit different compared to their previous CD's. I later fell in love with it (but how could I not). Great album, and great band. I agree with other reviewers saying it sounds a bit more complex. Great lyrics as always~
